Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a silicone foam with high fire-proof property in good workability at a room temp. by using two kinds of specific polysiloxane compositions together.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of a mixture consisting of a compound of polydimethylsiloxane (a), terminal phenylmethylvinylsiloxane-blocked polydimethylsioxane (b), terminal hydroxy blocked polydimethylsiloxane (c) and cyclic polymethylvinylsiloxane compound (d), a platinum type catalyst, a quartz powder and carbon, 5W30pts.wt. of aluminum silicate is mixed to form a composition (A) and, on the other hand, to 100pts.wt. of a mixture comprising a compound of a component (a), a component (b) and polymethylhydrogensiloxane (e), a quartz powder and a white pigment, 5W30pts.wt. of a metal borate is mixed to form a composition (B) (the viscosity of both compositions A, B is limited to 4,000W10,000cps) and, subsequently, a composition A and B are mixed and the obtained mixture is poured to a desired place to form a foam at a room temp.
