Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the stable electromagnetic forming work, by installing the detector for detecting the fluctuation of the voltage or electric current flowing through the forming coil of the electromagnetic forming apparatus, and by discriminating and controlling the forming condition.
CONSTITUTION: The forming work is performed as follows; the capacitor 6 is electrically charged to specified voltage while controlling the electric charging switch 7; by closing the starting switch 8, the electric discharge from the capacitor 6 flows an impulse current through the forming coil 3 which then generates the flucturating magnetic field. The electric discharge and charge of the capacitor 6 are repeatedly carried out until the specified formation is completed; the repetition is carried out by controlling the charge and discharge switches 7, 8, by the control circuit 10. For every electric discharge, the waveform of electric current flowing through the coil 3 is detedted by the detector 11, and is discriminated by the discriminator 12; hereupon, the completion of formation is discriminated depending on the wave- height, and the control circuit 10 is stopped, and all system is automatically stopped. Since the internal forming degree is thus exactly discriminated until the forming work is completed, the exact and sure electromagnetic forming work is carried out.
