Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise reflection factor of fluorescent film by impeding the intrusion of metal back element into the fluorescent film by the method in which a fluorescent film for facilitating the formation of a lacquer film is wetted with an aqueous solution of a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous surfactant solution 5 of a concentration of 0.1-0.05 vol% is sprayed onto the fluorescent film 3 for 10-20 seconds through the linear nozzle 6 to form an uniform water film. Then, the lacquer liquid (containing 3-4% of an acrylic resin component) 7 is sprayed onto the water film thus formed for 10-20 seconds through an atomizing or linear nozzle 6 while turning the cathode- ray tube bulb 1 to form the lacquer film 8. Then, it is allowed to stand under natural condition for curing for approximately 20 minutes and then the inner wall of the cathode-ray tube 1, other than the anode 4 and the fluorescent film 3, is washed with the pure water 9 through the linear nozzle 6. Afterwards, it is dried by the nitrogen gas 10 through the linear nozzle 6 to form the tough lacquer film 8.
