Abstract
PURPOSE: To assure good fixing and conveying by making the disposition of a guide plate which leads copying paper to a heat roller changeable, discriminating the thickness of the paper and controlling and moving the guide plate so as to lead the roller to another position according to the thickness.
CONSTITUTION: The device is so constituted that at the time when copying paper P is conveyed to a heat roller fixing device 10, it first contacts an upper roller 10a, after which it is set into the contact part with a lower roller 10b. It is also so constituted that when thick copying paper P is used the leading end of the copying paper P is fed straightly into between both rollers 10a, 10b without making contact with the upper roller 10a by the control means 50 which detects the thick copying paper and moves a guide plate 9 to the position of 9'. A control circuit 52 is so arranged that when electric current is supplied thereto the guide plate 9 turns about a fulcrum 9a to the position of 9 and when the current supply is turned off it lowers to 9'. It is so controlled that it is turned OFF when thick paper is inserted. Hence, good fixing is obtainable automatically.
