Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve ignition timing through setting of conduction starting time, by determining the conduction starting time of an ignition coil from a dwell set time and advance time and then igniting after a preset dwell time. CONSTITUTION:A dwell set time transferred through a data path 130 due to a write-in command from a control path 126, with an address specified by an addressing path 128, is set in a dwell register 140. Since the dwell time is a conduction time of an ignition coil, a central processing unit calculates an optimal conduction time from a reference conduction time determined by terminal voltage of a battery. A comparator 144 compares the dwell set time of the register 140 with a count produced by a dwell counter 142 which counts clock signals SL and provides an output if the count exceeds the dwell set time. The output turnes on/off RSFF 138 to actuate a driving circuit 158 of the ignition coil.
