Abstract

PURPOSE:An aerosol composition having little smell and a high flash point, prepared by making a system comprising water as a solvent and dimethyl ether as a propellant compatible with a carbonate solvent. CONSTITUTION:An aerosol composition prepared by making a system comprising water as a solvent and dimethyl ether as a propellant compatible with a <=4C carbonate, e.g. ethylene, propylene or diethyl carbonate. Propylene carbonate having a flash point of 132 deg.C and good solubility in polymers and oils, with little smell, renders the composition usable for deodorants and cosmetics, and the high boiling point of 242 deg.C renders it also usable for insecticides and insect repellents with good retention.
