Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the work efficiency by performing concavo-convex forming and pattern transferring simultaneously by a method wherein a patterned transfer sheet is processed with vacuum forming to have a desired concavo-convex form and further processed with mold forming of its resin, being put in the metal mold of a mold forming apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer sheet 1 is obtained by providing a print layer 4 painted with grain-toned or designed patterns thereon upon the surface of a substrate 2 formed by a thermoplastic film or sheet through the intermediary of a release layer 3 and forming an adhesive layer 5 thereon. The transfer sheet 1 is then placed on a mold 11 with its adhesive layer 5 up and processed with the vacuum forming, thereby the transfer sheet 1 provided with a desired concavo-convex form being obtained. And after the sheet 1 being put closely on the lower mold 20 of a mold forming apparatus, the melted resin 22 is injected in the cavity between the sheet 1 and the upper mold 21 of the apparatus and cooled, thus a formed product having the print layer 4 transferred on the surface of the concavo-convex-shaped formed matter 23 of resin being obtained.
