Abstract

PURPOSE: To edit tapes easily and cheeply by switching and using one VTR tape address automatic retrieval unit for plural VTRs.
CONSTITUTION: In case of the search for recording of VTR 8, an address to be retrieved is given to retrieval unit 2 from CPU 1 through control signal group a1. VTR 8 starts reproducing and transmits successively reproducing addresses to signal line f1. Receiving this address signal f1, retrieval unit 2 compares this signal with the address given from CPU 1 and gives a tape control signal to be the object address for VTR 8. Finally, when the object address is obtained, VTR 9 for editing is controlled to record data at this address of VTR 8. After that, required retrievals are successively performed, thus completing the tape editing.
