Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve drivability by converting a speed change pattern into the original pattern when an engine load is lower by a specified value than the maximum engine load detected and selectively stored amount various speed patterns for high speed running.
CONSTITUTION: The power of an engine 1 is transmitted to wheels 5 through a torque converter 2, an automatic transmission 3 and a differential 4. The rotational speed of axles 6 is detected by a speed sensor 7, which feeds the output to a microcomputer 9, oppositely connected to a throttle sensor 8. The microcomputer 9 sotres at least two kinds of those speed patterns, detects and stores the maximum opening of a throttle valve during selection among speed patterns fixed at high speed. A unit is available for converting the speed pattern into the original low speed fixed pattern when the opening is reduced lower than the maximum by a specified value.
