Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the damaging, etc. of the elements to be soldered owing to overheating by providing a temperature control unit in the grip portion of the soldering iron and connecting one end thereof to a heater and the temperature detecting element buried in the iron tip thereby controlling the iron tip temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature setting of an iron tip 1 is accomplished by operating a variable resistor 10. The temperature detecting element 2 buried in the iron tip 1 detects the temperature of the iron tip 1 heated by a heater 5 and the signal thereof is sent to the comparator 11 of a temperature control unit 8, so that the comparison with the preset signal is accomplished. By the differential signal thereof, the switching element such as TRIAC12 is opened or closed to control the electric power supply to the heater 5, whereby the temperature of the iron tip 1 is maintained at a constant temperature. This mechanism results in higher control accuracy, permits the even and stable soldering with less power consumption and prevents the pattern peeling, etc. of the printed substrates.
