Abstract

PURPOSE: To make an output voltage constant, by adjusting the amplitude of a carrier depending on the fluctuation in an input DC voltage to control a time width.
CONSTITUTION: When gate signals are applied to the gates of thyristors TH11∼ TH14 of an inverter 11, the DC input is converted into an AC output which contains two pulses per half period of the inverter as shown in Fig. f. When an induction motor 12 is driven by the AC output, AC power of low distortion factor is generated through the output winding of the motor. When the voltage of the DC input has fallen, a time width θ is set large but another θ' is set small. When the voltage has risen, the time width θ is set small and the other θ' is set large. The product of the output voltage of the inverter and time is thus made constant. As a result, the output voltage of the inverter is compensated of the fluctuation in the input voltage and made constant.
