Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain nearly constant output for driving a load regardless of input voltage by providing a switching circuit for output control to change over an input power supply to either full-wave rectification or half-wave rectification corresponding to magnitude of input voltage.
CONSTITUTION: In a switching circuit of output control 1, composed of resistors R1, R3, a variable resistor R2 and transistors Q1, Q2, which is connected to terminals a and b of a transformer T, when input voltage is equal to 100 V, transistor Q1 is OFF state and Q2 is ON state to supply output of full-wave rectification to a load L, and when input voltage increases till 200 V, transistor Q1 is ON state and Q2 is OFF state to supply output of half-wave rectification to the loade L. By this means, an automatic voltage change over is made with a simple configuration because nearly constant mean power is automatically supplied to the load L when input voltage is either 100 V or 200 V.
