Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve dehydration property in the thawing of sludge with removal of stickly matters around sludge particles through irradiation of ultrasonic wave to the separated liquid after it is separated into the liquid and a concentrated liquid.
CONSTITUTION: Concentrated sludge made free of fine particles and organic substance of small specific gravity with a sludge separator 1 is thawed with a thawing device 3a and dehydrated with a dehydrator 4a. On the other hand, the separated liquid containing large amount of fine particles and organic matters is thawed with a thawing device 3b and dehydrated with a dehydrator 4b after treated by an ultrasonic irradiation tank 2. Effects of both ultrasonic and thawing treatments can improve the dehydration property of the cake. In addition, there is no fear of secondary pollution due to final disposal of dehydrated cake and the eliminating liquid.
