Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve power saving of the wristwatch with pulsimeter by so arranging the same that the pulsimeter acruates and the rates of pulsation are displayed only when the fingertip or the like is touched to a pulse detector with the intention of measuring the rates of heart beat. CONSTITUTION:A member 41 which integrates a pulse detecting portion to a surface area smaller than that of the fingertip is disposed to part 11 of the surface of a watch case. This pulse detecting part 41 consists of a radiation light source 61, a reflected light detector 71, a contact switch electrode 81 and lead wires 9 for respective element. When the fingertip 51, is touched to the detecting part 41, the light from the radiation light source 61 radiates the fingertip 51 and part of the light having transmitted and diffused in the fingertip 51 is modulated to the intensities corresponding to the heart beat and is lead to the reflected light detector 71 as shown by the line A. At this time, the fingertip 51 conducts the watch case 11 and contact switch electrode 81 likes the line B to cause the pulse detector to actuate thereby displaying the results of counting of a heart beat rate counter circuit 105 in the time display part 108 of the watch.
