Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance S/N by selecting a sampling frequency so that it may satisfy a prescribed condition when an amplitude-modulated waveform is coded and this absolute value is demodulated through a digital LPF.
CONSTITUTION: Receiving amplitude-modulated wave P(t) is subjected to sampling by frequency fs in sampling hold circuit 11, and is coded by A/D converter 12. Then, this absolute value is caused to pass digital LPF14, which extracts only base band components, and D/A converter 15 through digital absolute value circuit 13, thereby taking out base band signal A(t) as a demodulated output. At this time, sampling frequency fs is so selected that modulation components, whose frequency is two times as high as the carrier of the amplitude-modulated wave, may be prevented from entering in the band of LPF14, so that S/N can be enhanced
