Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve high temperature mechanical properties and solvent resistance of a fluoro-olefin-cyclohexylvinylether copolymer by exposing the copolymer to specific radiation in the presence of oxygen and crosslinking thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A fluoro-olefin-cyclohexylvinylether copolymer is crosslinked by exposing to radiation containing ultraviolet ray having wave length of ≤270nm in the presence oxygen. The fluoro-olefin is, e.g. tetrafluoroethylene. The molar ratio of the fluoro-olefin/cyclohexylvinylether is preferably 30/70W70/30, and the copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity (30°C, in THF) of preferably 0.2W3g/dl.
