Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a drive congrol method for mobile body, according to which power transmission is switched from drive of a large motor to that of a small motor by means of clutch when revolutional number of the large motor shaft, detected by pulse generator adapted for detecting the revolutional number of gears, has reached a certain prescribed level, whereby it is enabled to prevent that impulsive torque load be acted to the small motor.
CONSTITUTION: In high-speed region and medium-speed region of the operation of mobile body, wheels 3 are drive by large motor M. As the speed of mobile body is reduced from the medium-speed region down to the low-speed region and when it is detected from the pulses produced by pulse generator 5 that the speed has been lowered to such a level at which power transmission can be switched to the drive of small motor (m), small-motor driving instruction is given and gears are shifted to obtain driving force from small motor (m). Thus, in accordance with the method of this invention, gears are shifted to small motor (m) only when revolutional speed of the large-motor shaft has reached a certain prescribed level, so that it is prevented that impulsive torque load be acted to the small motor.
