Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:0, 0-Diethyl-0-[3-(α-methylbenzyloxy)-pyridazin-6-yl] phosphorothioate of formula I.
USE: Insecticides for smaller brown plant hopper, larvae of tobacco cutworm, two spotted spider mite, and croton bugs.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II: (M is H or alkali metal) is reacted with a compound of formula III: (X is halogen) in a solvent, e.g. acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, at 0Wl10°c, preferably 10W100°C, under atmospheric pressure to give the objective compound of formula I. When M in the formula II is H, a hydrohalogenic acid acceptor, e.g. sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, pyridine, or piperidine is preferably used.
