Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the access time by selecting the signals which are applied to the input part of the charge coupling element to be used for RAM, the transfer channel part and the electrode of the output part each.
CONSTITUTION: The following parts and channels are provided: input part 26 to supply the signal charge; the input serial transfer channel containing input serial electrode 21 provided at the upper part and combined to part 26; plural units of parallel transfer channels containing parallel electrode 22 and 23 at the upper part and DC-connected to the input serial transfer channel; and the output serial transfer channel containing output serial electrode 24 and DC-connected to the parallel transfer channel. Then output part 27 is connected to detect the charge transferred to the output transfer channel. With the charge coupling element of such constitution, clock signal application terminals 1W3 are provided to apply the prescribed clock signals to electrode 21, 24 plus 22 and 23, along with signal application terminals 5W8, 9W12 and 13W16 to apply the signals independent from the clock signals.
