Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove soot and sulfur monoxide from combustion gas, by cooling combustion gas, removing dust from it, and after this by introducing its high-speed steam into a spiral path, where it is brought into contact and subjected to reaction at high speed with fine liquid particles and liquid films.
CONSTITUTION: Outer cylinder 1 encloses venturi 4, which is concentric with it. The wall of venturi 4 is provided with connecting pipe 5, and combustion gas inlet 6 is formed there. Further, concentric with pipe 5, nozzle 7 is provided. Liquid reservoir 9 is placed in lower-stage partitioning chamber 8 of outer cylinder 1. Liquid reervoir 9 faces gas-discharge end part 9 of venturi 4, Next, combustion gas passes through passage 19 or 20 and enters spiral passages 17 and 18 and is brought into contact at high speed with liquid droplets sprayed from spray nozzle 21 and further it is brought into contact at high speed with fine droplets from spray nozzles 22 and 23 and liquid films formed on the suraces of spiral-band- shaped plates 15 and 16, and thereby soot and sulfur monoxide are removed from combustion gas.
