Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an exhaust gas treating agent capable of treating org. gases, inorg. gases, dust and tar-like substances at the same time with high efficiency by adding an amino-alcohol to a paraffinic org. cpd.
CONSTITUTION: 5W20 wt% of an amino-alcohol selected from mono-, di- and tri-ethanolamines is added to a paraffinic org. cpd., pref. liquid paraffin to provide an exhaust gas treating agent. Using the agent org. gases such as toluene, xylene and trichlene, inorg. gases such as SO2 and NO2, dust, tar-like substances, etc. can be removed by scrubbing with good efficiency. Since the agent contains no inorg. cpd., it can be recycled repeatedly by thermally decomposing the org. gases absorbed and separating the inorg. gases by water extraction, etc.
