Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible forceful stacking of paper leaves in specified stacking chambers by providing recharging ports of reject paper leaves for each kind in addition to means of taking in the paper leaves automatically sheet by sheet and charging the refect paper leaves through these recharging ports.

CONSTITUTION: The banknotes P contained in a banknote containing part 2 are subjected to discrimination of kinds, genuinness, etc. by a detecting part 5 and are classified to genuine notes and reject notes. The genuine notes are segmented, stacked and totalized into the first, second and third stacking chambers 10, 12, 13 depending upon the results of judgement and the reject notes are stacked in the reject stacking part 8 via return path 7. The recharging ports 15 thru 17 recharging the reject notes sheet by sheet are provided for each kind between the containing part 2 and stacking part 8 and the reject notes are classified by note kinds and are charged into the respective charging ports 15 thru 17 through manual charging. The notes then pass through an exclusive take-in path 18, common conveying path 19 and enter the take-in conveying path 4. The signals of a detector 21 cause gates 9, 11, 6 to actuate to automatically stack the notes in the stacking chambers 10, 12, 13. The notes are counted and are fully totalized by the detector 14, thus the through of each lot may be surely completed.
