Abstract

PURPOSE: To indicate an accurate fuel residual volume, by subtracting a consumption volume from a fuel volume which is measured while an engine is at rest.
CONSTITUTION: After receiving a fuel signal 1a from an electronic fuel injector, a consumption signal 1b from a consumption fuel volume converting circuit 1 is input to a digital reduction circuit 3 every time a certain fuel volume is consumed. Simultaneously, a level detecting unit 2, connected with a level sensor 7 which detects a residual level in a fuel tank, inputs a level signal 2b to the digital reduction circuit 3 and a correction determining unit 4. Further, a timing circuit 6 connected with a switch system 9, such as a key switch and the like, inputs tming signals 6b and 6c to the correction determining unit 4 and an indicating unit 5. Thus, a consumption value is reduced from an initial set value of the digital reduction circuit 3 and is indicated at the indicating unit 5. If a fuel system is defective, the correction is made by the correction determining unit 4 by means of the level signal 2b in a fuel tank, and difference between an indicated volume and actual volume is corrected.
