Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a display device with good yield and simple process by providing air bubble pockets within the cell in the production of the cell saving liquid crystal injection process. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal cell comprising bonding transparent substrates 1 having transparent electrodes 2 by way of a spacer 3(7) and containing liquid crystal 4 in the inside, an adhesive agent 7 is coated on one glass substrate in the shape of having air bubble pockets 6 and is then suitably dried to provide the spacer. Next, a fixed volume of liquid crystal is dropped thereon in a nitrogen atmosphere and another glass substrate is superposed thereon, after which both substrates are thermocompression-bonded to make the liquid crystal cell. If the cell is produced in this way, the air bubbles even when produced during assembly are forced into the air bubble pockets 6, thus the occurrence of appearance defect and quality degradation is obviated.
