Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an outer appearance good and eliminate an incongruous feeling and injury at an open edge, by having a curved-cross-sectional curl contiguous with an annular flange that is contaguous with the open edge of a bottomed cylindrical part whose body wall extends from a bottom wall and that projects outward in the direction of the diameter of the open edge, and by forming annular flat part on the external surface of the annular flange. SOLUTION: By having an annular flat part 41 on the external surface of an annular flange 4, it is used as a fusion bonding face to which a lid is fusion bonded under heat, and hermetic sealability is surely maintained by an increase in fusing area. The thickness T3 of a body wall 3, the thickness T1 of the annular flange 4, and the thickness T2 of a curl 5 are equal. The curl 5 is formed so as to have a curved cross-section and is recessed inward as a whole from the peripheral edge of the annular flange 4, and the whole of a main part 52 and end edge part 51 is curled inward. A layer of stagnant air in a space S, made around an open edge 11 by the curl 5 and annular flange 4, exhibits heat resistance, which makes it difficult to transfer the temperature of hot contents to the surface of the curl 5. It eliminates an incongruous feeing and a danger of injury at the open edge, and the heat sealability is safely and surely maintained in the fusion bonding to the lid.

2. Description of the Related Art Containers for instant foods, such as instant noodles and instant yakisoba, which are filled with boiling water and cooked, or containers for foods which are desirably eaten while hot, are made of foamed synthetic resin molded articles. This is preferable because the heat insulating property of the foamed synthetic resin makes it difficult for the temperature of the contents to be transmitted to the hand holding the container, and also makes it difficult for the contents to cool.

Conventionally, such a heat-insulating container A can be manufactured by the bead foam molding method, but the container made by the bead foam molding method has a rough surface roughness. In addition, there is a problem that production costs are high. On the other hand, in some cases, a heat insulating container is manufactured from a foamed synthetic resin sheet by a vacuum forming method or a pressure forming method.
In these methods, a container is formed at a plurality of locations on a foamed synthetic resin sheet at the same time by the above-described method, and then the formed container is punched out of the foamed synthetic resin sheet to take out a single product. However, in the heat-insulating container A taken out from the foamed synthetic resin sheet by punching, since the outward end face 4a of the annular flange 4 corresponds to a cut surface having a rough surface roughness, the end face 4a is conspicuous. The appearance of the heat-insulating container A becomes unsightly, or the mouth is attached to the annular collar portion 4 so that the lips are sharply touched when eating or drinking the contents, causing discomfort to the lips, or cutting the lips when severe. There is a problem that the product value is reduced because the product may be injured.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to improve the appearance of a heat insulating container by providing a curled portion at the opening, and to provide a feeling of strangeness or an edge of the opening when the opening is attached to the opening. An object of the present invention is to provide a heat-insulating container that does not have a risk of cutting the lips and causing injuries.

In the heat-insulating container having the above construction, the curl portion is connected to the opening edge of the body wall and connected to the annular flange projecting radially outward from the opening edge. Because of the curved cross section, a space where an air layer can be stored is formed around the opening edge of the body wall by the annular flange and the curl, and the air layer is exhibited. Due to the heat insulating property, even when the curled portion is thin, the temperature of the hot contents is hardly transmitted to the surface of the curled portion. Therefore, it is difficult to feel the heat when eating and drinking the contents by attaching the mouth to the curl portion. In addition, since the curls are attached to the mouth to eat or drink the contents, there is no danger of feeling uncomfortable or cutting the lips and causing injuries.

1 and 2, a heat-insulating container A according to the present invention comprises a bottomed cylindrical portion 1 having a body wall portion 3 extending from a bottom wall portion 2; An annular flange portion 4 that is connected to the opening edge portion 11 of the portion 1 and protrudes radially outward of the opening edge portion 11; and a curl portion 5 that is connected to the annular flange portion 4 and has a curved cross section. Have one. The heat insulating container A is integrally formed of a foamed synthetic resin molded body, specifically, a foamed polystyrene resin. This heat-insulating container A is advantageously used for storing instant foods such as instant noodles cooked by pouring hot water and foods and drinks which are preferred to be eaten or drunk while hot.

As shown in detail in FIG. 3, an annular flat portion 41 is provided on the outer surface of the annular flange portion 4. The flat portion 41 is used as a fusion surface for thermally fusing the lid 15 indicated by a virtual line in FIG. As the lid 15,
A paper lid covered with aluminum is known, and when the flat portion 41 is used as a fusion surface as described above, there is an advantage that a welding area is increased and airtightness is reliably maintained.

As can be seen from FIG. 3, the thickness T3 of the body wall portion 3, the thickness T1 of the annular flange portion 4, and the thickness T2 of the curl portion 5 are equal. Here, “equivalent” means that a negligible dimensional difference is allowed, and does not mean that the thickness does not differ exactly. Specifically, T1, T2, T3
Means that a dimensional difference within a maximum of 0.25 mm is regarded as equivalent.

Although the curl portion 5 is formed to have a curved cross section, and as a whole enters inward from the outer peripheral edge of the annular flange portion 4, the curl portion 5 shown in FIG. The edge portion 51 is slightly curled in a direction opposite to the main portion 52. The shape of the curled portion 5 may be such that the entirety of the main portion 52 and the edge portion 51 is curled inward.

In the heat-insulating container A, the portion held by the hand is mainly the body wall portion 3 of the bottomed cylindrical portion 1. Therefore, the body wall portion 3 is required not only to have a heat insulating property that makes it difficult for the temperature of the hot contents to be transmitted to the hand, but also to have a strength that does not easily collapse when grasped by hand. Is done.
When the thickness of the body wall 3 is set to 1.5 mm or less, preferably 0.3 to 1.5 mm as described above, even if the body wall 3 is held by hand, the heat of the contents is transmitted to the hand so much. And also
Even if the torso wall portion 3 is grasped by hand, it does not easily collapse. If the thickness of the body wall 3 is less than 0.3 mm, the strength and heat insulation required for the body wall 3 tend to be too low. It is not impossible to make the thickness of the body wall 3 thicker than 1.5 mm, but such a thickness is not preferable because it leads to wasteful consumption of the molding material.

The thickness of the curled portion 5 is 1.5 mm or less. The opening edge portion 1 is formed by the curl portion 5 and the annular flange portion 4.
A space S is formed around 1 and the air layer accumulated in the space S exhibits heat insulation. Therefore, the curl portion 5 is 1.
Even if the thickness is as thin as 5 mm or less, the temperature of the hot contents is hardly transmitted to the surface of the curl portion 5. Therefore, when the mouth is attached to the curl portion 5 to eat or drink hot contents, it is difficult to feel the heat. Also, the curl portion 5

According to the heat insulating container of the present invention, a curled portion is formed at an opening edge for attaching a mouth, and a space is formed around the opening edge by the curled portion. In addition, when the mouth is attached to the curl portion to eat or drink the contents, it is difficult to feel the heat. In addition, since the mouth is attached to the curled portion, the user does not feel discomfort or cut the lips and is not injured. In particular,
Since an annular flat portion is provided on the outer surface of the annular flange portion, the welding area can be increased when the lid is thermally welded, and the sealing performance can be stably and reliably maintained.
