Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oily waste liquid adsorbent which has a sufficient amt. of adsorption, is good in handling quality after adsorption and allows the use of the adsorbent after use as fuel by constituting the adsorbent of a mixture composed of pulverized grain-like fibers and a dehydrating agent and specifying the compounding ratio (by volume) thereof to a specific value. SOLUTION: This adsorbent consists of the mixture composed of the pulverized grain-like fibers and the dehydrating agent and the compounding ratio thereof is the pulverized grain-like fibers/the dehydrating agent = 7/2 to 10/1 (more preferably 9/2 to 9/1). The grain-like fibers include rice bran, wheat bran, bean curd lees, etc. The use of one or >=2 kinds thereof in combination is possible. The dehydrating agent includes quicklime. The amt. of the waste liquid to be added to the adsorbent is possible up to the addition of about 400 times the amt. (by volume) of the adsorbent. Further, the fiber length of the grain-like fibers and the grain size of the dehydrating agent are respectively preferably specified to about 0.1 to 0.7mm and about 0.05 to 0.2mm.

The mixing ratio of the cereal fiber and the dehydrating agent is preferably cereal fiber / dehydrating agent = 7/2 to 10/1 (preferably 9/2 to 9/1) by volume ratio. When the blending ratio is less than 7/2, the ratio of the cereal fiber is too low to obtain a sufficient adsorption effect and a sticky feel may be left after use. When the ratio is 10/1 or more, the cereal fiber may be removed. This is because even if the above addition is made, no increase in the adsorption rate is observed, which is waste.
