Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a delay time and a reproduction processing speed of a reproduced program in response to an operation input by a user interface. SOLUTION: At least a component operated as shown in the following is provided to the device under the control of a CPU 40 mainly. Newest demodulated data for a prescribed time are written in a delay storage memory 150 sequentially to update old data, and demodulated data delayed by a proper time are read from the memory in parallel with the write. In the mode where the delay demodulation data are decoded and reproduced, the reproduction processing speed is properly increased to properly compress video and audio reproduction time bases for high speed reproduction. In response to the entry to an operation panel 60, whether decoding reproduction of real time demodulation data or decoding reproduction of delayed demodulation data by a designated time is controlled and the reproduction processing speed of the delayed demodulation data is controlled.

[0003] However, when a movie to be broadcast is reserved for recording, the user goes out and goes home earlier than expected, so he returns home in a hurry to get ready for the start of broadcasting. May have been lost. Such a case is a problem. In other words, if you immediately start watching a movie being broadcast, you may not know what you missed first, and the story development of the movie may not be clear enough, and the fun may be lacking. However, if you look back at the movie being broadcast after rewinding the recorded amount, you missed the broadcast while watching the recorded amount,
After all the fun is halved. After all, while waiting for the end of the broadcast while waiting for the end of the broadcast while being frustrated that you can not see it just after the broadcast started,
I had to rewind the videotape that had been recorded to the end and take the time to start watching it.

However, this is still insufficient as a reproducing function. If possible, it can be played back from any point in the program being played back, and can be fast-forwarded as needed to reduce the delay time for the program being broadcast and catch up. Unlike this, you can enjoy clearer video and audio and save time. In particular, we want to reduce the delay time by skipping broadcasts other than the contents of a program like commercials.

At the time of receiving a program, the receiving frequency from the parabolic antenna 80 is determined by tuning the tuner 70. Since the output from the tuner 70 is digitally modulated for satellite broadcasting, it is demodulated by the QPSK demodulator 90. The output from QPSK demodulator 90 is error correction 1
After 00, only the packet of the desired broadcast program is descrambled by the descrambler 110 to be descrambled data (hereinafter, decompressed data). The decompressed data is separated into video, audio, and data packets by an MPEG2 Transport Demultiplexer (hereinafter, demultiplexer) 120, and the MPEG2 A / V decoder 130
Then, the decoded video signal and audio packet are decoded and decompressed and converted into analog signals to obtain the decoded video signal and audio signal. These signals are sent to a display, an amplifier, and a speaker (not shown). The exchange of signals and data between the units is performed via a bus 140.

Next, it is specified by the input from the operation panel 60 whether the decompressed data is reproduced in real time or delayed, and when the real time reproduction mode is selected, the decompressed data is separated and decoded as described above. Process and output AV (S30, S40). When the delay playback mode is selected, a designated value for the delay time at the playback start point input from the operation panel 60 is obtained, and when a fast-forward instruction is given, a designated value for the playback speed is also acquired. Then, reproduction processing such as reading out the decompressed data with the specified delay time, separating and decompressing and decoding is performed at the specified fast-forward speed, and is output as AV (S50, S60, S7).

The delay time is updated in accordance with the reduction of the delay time according to the reproduction speed (S90). If there is no fast forward instruction, the read decompressed data is output at a standard speed and output as an AV (S6).

According to the digital broadcast receiving / reproducing apparatus of the present invention, delayed demodulated data can be read out and reproduced in parallel with writing the demodulated data to the storage means. it can. Also, since the demodulated data is written in the storage means while being updated, even if the broadcast program to be stored exceeds the storage capacity of the storage means, reproduction is started before the already written demodulated data is lost. This allows continuous playback from the beginning to the end.

Further, since the stored delayed demodulated data can be played back in a fast-forward manner, it is possible to watch in real time without deteriorating the video and audio being received by catching up with the program currently being broadcast. When watching the program, the viewing time can be shortened by the amount that can be fast-forwarded, and the reading speed of the demodulated data already written is higher than the writing speed, so that the storage capacity of the storage means can be given a margin. In particular, when skipping a broadcast portion other than the contents of a program such as a commercial at the time of fast-forwarding, it is possible to shorten the time while improving the entertainment of the program by the amount that the commercial is not viewed.

1. A demodulation means for demodulating a received digital broadcast signal to obtain a digitally encoded video signal and audio signal, and sequentially updating the demodulated data for a predetermined period of time in a predetermined storage means. Writing means, means for reading out the demodulated data delayed from the storage means by an appropriate time in parallel with the write operation, and real-time demodulated data from the demodulation means or read from the storage means. Decoding means for reproducing the video signal and the audio signal by decoding the delayed demodulated data; and in the mode for decoding and reproducing the delayed demodulated data, the reproduction processing speed of the video and the audio is increased by appropriately increasing the reproduction processing speed. Fast-forward reproduction control means for appropriately compressing, decoding or reproducing the real-time demodulated data, or decoding the delayed demodulated data delayed by a specified time. A first user interface for controlling whether decoding and reproduction are performed in response to a user input, and a second user interface for controlling the reproduction processing speed of the fast-forward reproduction control means in response to a user input in a mode for decoding and reproducing the delayed demodulated data.
