Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain thin profile and high quality with an improved structure of a speaker box by placing a bent part of the speaker box folded to be L shape between a display device and a rear cover. SOLUTION: A speaker box 7 is folded to be L shape and a bent part 7a is placed between a rear part of a display device 3 and a rear panel 4a of a rear cover 4. A speaker 6 is mounted in the speaker box 7 and a front part of the speaker box 7 is fitted to a front cabinet 2 via a vibration proof material 8 with a machine screw 9. A printed circuit board 5 may be placed to the rear side of a liquid crystal display device 3. Since the width of the bent part 7a of the speaker box 7 is made narrow, the depth of the television receiver 1 is decreased to the utmost. Thus, the speaker box is in use while realizing a thin profile and since the volume of the speaker box is not reduced, high sound quality is obtained.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a television receiver, and more particularly to a television receiver having an improved speaker box and a reduced thickness.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, electronic devices have become smaller and thinner due to the development of electronic technology and the growing needs of users. In order to reduce the thickness of television receivers, from the one using a cathode ray tube to the one using a liquid crystal, a liquid crystal television using plasma, a plasma television applying plasma light emission, and the like have been introduced into the market. The main function of a television receiver is to output an image and sound, but for sound, a speaker is generally used.

As examples of conventional speaker mounting structures for television receivers, there are those disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 4-130394 and 7-30834. Also, the structure of the speaker portion of a typical conventional television receiver is shown in FIG.
This will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a structure of a speaker portion of a conventional television receiver with a part thereof broken.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to improve the structure of a speaker box to make it thinner, and to provide a television receiver with high sound quality.

In order to solve the above problems, in the television receiver of the present invention, the bent portion of the speaker box bent in an L shape is arranged between the display and the rear cover, and the thickness is reduced. At the same time, it has made it possible to provide high-quality TV receivers.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT An embodiment of the television receiver of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a cabinet of a television receiver according to the present invention with a part thereof cut away. In the present embodiment, an example of a television receiver using liquid crystal as a display 3 will be described.

A feature of the present invention is that the speaker box 7 is bent into an L shape, and the bent portion 7a is arranged between the rear side of the display 3 and the back plate 4a of the rear cover 4, and the speaker box 7 is provided inside the speaker box 7. The speaker 6 is attached, and the front portion 7b of the speaker box 7 is fixed to the front cabinet 2 with a screw 9 via a vibration isolator 8. A circuit board 5 may be arranged behind the liquid crystal display 3. Since the width of the bent portion 7a of the speaker box 7 can be narrowed, the depth of the television receiver 1 can be reduced as much as possible.

The present invention is not limited to this embodiment, and various embodiments can be adopted. For example, although the display 3 is a liquid crystal in the above embodiment, it is needless to say that it can be applied to a plasma television receiver using plasma.

[Claims] 1. A television receiver in which a bent portion of an L-shaped bent speaker box is arranged between a display and a rear cover. 2. The television receiver according to claim 1, wherein the display is a liquid crystal.
