Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an artificial opal with brilliance similar to that of a natural one and can be freely made in a size and a shape by hardening a multi- layered polymer with optical interference phenomenon after it is embedded in a liquid resin. CONSTITUTION:Liquid epoxy resin into which a hardener and a blue coloring agent are mixed is poured into a hole 2 of a rubber mold 1. A multi-layered polymer film piece 3 cut out in a jewel shape plane cross section fittable to the hole 2 from the wrinkled and yellowed multi-layered polymer film is embedded in the liquid epoxy resin 4. The resin is taken out from the rubber mold after hardening. When the multi- -layered polymer film piece 3 is surrounded by the liquid resin 4, its brilliance is increased to a far more excellent level and cannot be discriminated from that of a natural one. Thus, greenish brilliance of a black opal can be obtained. An artificial fire opal can be obtained when a yellowish multiple polymer film and red colored liquid resin are used.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, except for opal, all artificial mimicry stones existed, but only opal did not exist. It is artificially transparent and colorless, yellow or blue,
It may be because it was extremely difficult to form an array of molecules that optically separate, interfere, and reflect the spectrum of light, which is the mechanism of opal shine, sometimes in a reddish rough. It has been a long time since a piece of gold or silver plate was embedded in a synthetic resin and molded to reflect light. Recently, many small pieces of phonography film whose shapes and colors change depending on the viewing angle have been embedded to reflect and change the color to give off brilliance. It is a reflected light ray from a board similar to that and the characteristic of the reflected light ray is that it is glittering, the light itself is intense, and it is far from the shine of opal that creates that soft atmosphere. It was That is, it is the current situation that artificial opal has not been considered so far.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The present invention uses a natural opal that is transparent and is colored in a rough stone whose base material is colorless, yellow, or blue, and rarely red. In view of the fact that it is a structure in which an array of molecules that optically separates, interferes with, and reflects the spectrum of light is formed, an artificial opal having a similar mechanism is provided. In order to bring out the peculiar soft shine of that opal, we must rely on means to separate, interfere, and reflect the spectrum of light, which cannot be obtained by direct reflection of light.

In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, as a means for separating, interfering, and reflecting the spectrum of light, an array of molecules that optically separates, interferes, and reflects the spectrum of light is already used. Since a multiple polymer film (trade name: Aurora film, Marl film, etc.) in which is formed has already been developed, it was used, and a transparent liquid resin was used as a main raw material by coloring it. That is, wrinkles are formed on the multiple polymer film (creasing has the effect of enhancing the interference effect of light, and in the present invention, all wrinkles are used except for cutting into fine pieces.) This is colored and transparent. A means for molding and curing by embedding in a different liquid resin was used.

The artificial opal produced by the above-mentioned method has an array of molecules that optically separate, interfere and reflect the spectrum of light in advance in the transparent liquid resin which is the main raw material. Since the multi-polymer film is buried, when the light hits it, it splits the spectrum of light by the mechanism exactly the same as natural opal, interferes, reflects and shines, and the multi-polymer film is surrounded by liquid resin. When it is exposed, it has a much more strange glow than when it is in the air, and it has the effect of creating a soft, strange glow and atmosphere that is almost indistinguishable from natural opal. In particular, when combining a yellow-based multiple polymer film and a liquid resin colored in blue, it is extremely splendid and wonderful of a super-high-quality natural black opal that has a greenish tinge with a vivid combination of yellow and blue. It has the effect of producing a tremendous brilliance and attracts people. This is one important feature of the present invention. Brilliant fire opal can be obtained by using a yellow multi-layer polymer film and a liquid resin colored red.

In the third embodiment, if a thin opal plate is molded and manufactured and heated to about 100 ° C., it becomes soft and can be easily cut with scissors. Therefore, by cutting this into the desired shape and adhering it to the desired object, an article with a fine artificial opal decoration is completed. This embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 7 shows a rubber mold 11 made of silicone rubber. In addition, a resin similar to that of the first embodiment is mixed with a thin and finely cut multi-polymer film (for example, aurorayan product name) and injected to form an opal thin plate 12 as shown in FIG. Next, from this thin plate, a cutout piece fitted in the recess 18 of the handle 17 of the fork shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 9, punching with a press, that is, punching into the shape of the recess 18 of the handle 17 of the fork on the thin plate 12,
Reference numerals 13, 14 and 15 are the holes for removing the holes, and 16 is an artificial opal piece. Fork handle 1 of this opal piece
By embedding and adhering it in the recesses 18 on both sides of 7, a pattern fork with the shine of opal is completed. Needless to say, the thin plate is heated to the above-mentioned high temperature during cutting. In addition, an example of a multi-polymer film cut into long and narrow pieces was given, but this one produces a distinctive brilliance unlike the case of a single film. Of course, the multi-polymer film need not be finely cut.
