【発明の詳細な説明】 〈産業上の利用分野〉 本発明は、表示素子とプリント配線基板とをフレキシ
ブル配線基板により接続する表示装置に関するものであ

合には、液晶駆動用ICをプリント配線基板あるいはフレ

〈発明が解決しようとする問題点〉 本発明は、液晶表示素子とプリント配線基板の接続に
はフレキシブル配線基板を使用し、液晶駆動用ICもフレ
キシブル配線基板に搭載するという方法に関するが、従
来技術の様に、フレキシブル配線基板に使用ICを全部搭
載すれば、IC1ケが不良になったら、IC全部が搭載され
ているフレキシブル配線基板が不良になり、歩留りが悪
くなった。特に、フレキシブル配線基板に直接ICチップ
を取付ける場合、あるいはアウターリードボンデングに

プリント配線基板１には、インターフェース信号回
路，電源回路，液晶表示装置コントロール回路（図示せ
ず）等が設計されており、その外周近辺に液晶駆動用IC
（後述する）とのインターフェース端子2,2,…が設けら
れている。プリント配線基板１と他の外部回路との接続
は、外部入力信号用コネクター３を介して行なうように

プリント配線基板と、該プリント配線基板と前記表示パ
ネルとを接続するフレキシブル配線基板と、該フレキシ
ブル配線基板に搭載され、前記信号処理回路からの入力
信号に応答して前記表示パネルを駆動する表示駆動用IC
と、を具備してなり、前記表示駆動用ICは前記表示パネ
ルの少なくとも一辺に対し複数個並設されてなる表示装
置において、 前記フレキシブル配線基板は、個々の前記表示駆動用IC
毎に１対１対応で分割形成されかつそれぞれが前記表示
パネル及び前記プリント基板に対して剥離可能に並設接
続されていることを特徴とする表示装置。1.
