Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an odorless antifouling coating compound useful as a bottom paint, hardly attaching sea water organisms such as barnacles, etc., having long durability of effect, capable of reducing repeated coatings and excellent workability by mixing a coating compound comprising a water-soluble resin with an isothiocyanic acid ester. したものが生物付着防止に優れ主流商品として販売され
ていたが、該成分中のスズ化合物が海水に溶けて有機ス
ズとなり、海洋生物の突然変異をうむ原因となるために
海洋汚染防止の観点から今日ではその使用が禁止され現
在に至っている。しかしながら、かかるスズ化合物配合
の塗料に代わる生物付着防止に優れた塗料は開発されて
いない。

合量としては1〜20重量%とするのが好ましい。エス
テルの一つであるイソチオシアン酸アリルは、常温液体
の物質で、性質として強い刺激臭を有する。そのため、
塗料の塗布工程において作業者が作業しやすくすること
が必要である。そこで、この液体をマイクロカプセル化
することにより刺激臭を抑えるようにした。

水溶性塗料としては、アクリル樹脂系のものを使用する
のが好ましい。

ロカプセル化したものは、海水生物付着防止効果の持続
性もさることながら、無臭であるために塗布作業が非常
に簡易である。
