Further, each liquid crystal panel always has a terminal portion, which is connected with a flexible tape or the like. However, it is difficult to bring the connecting portions of the individual liquid crystal panels into close contact with each other without a gap, and there is a problem that light always passes through the gaps formed in the connecting portions and the shadow of the above-mentioned connection is reflected on the display surface.

As for the contents, a light-shielding material is applied to the connecting surface of the liquid crystal panel, and a masking tape for closing the gap of the connecting portion is attached on the display surface. In this way, the transmitted light from the connecting portion was removed to obtain a good display.

However, in the device having the above-described configuration, the width of the masking tape between pixels and the width of the masking tape at the connecting portion are different, so that the pixel pitch changes at the connecting portion as a whole display screen, and the view of that portion deteriorates. There is a problem.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a large-sized display device configured by arranging a plurality of panels so as to be connected to each other, with a width that does not cover the pixels of the panel on the connection portion on the display surface side of the panel, and A light-shielding member / light-reflecting member whose surface is a mirror surface is arranged, and the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member is arranged so as to cover at least one pixel in the peripheral portion of the panel.
The optical member has a beam splitting function, which divides light incident from the panel and refracts light in the surface direction of the light shielding member / light reflecting member.

According to the above-described means, the light transmitted through the pixels on the peripheral edge of the panel covered by the optical member having the beam splitting function is incident on the optical member. Then, this light is divided into one that is transmitted through the optical member and emitted from the surface thereof and one that is refracted in the optical member, by the beam splitting function provided to the optical member. Then, the light refracted in the optical member goes toward the surface direction of the light blocking member / light reflecting member, is reflected here, and then is emitted from the surface of the optical member.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 is a small liquid crystal panel, which is connected in a mosaic pattern. The portion where the liquid crystal panels 1 are in contact with each other is the connecting portion 2, and a gap is formed. Since the light is transmitted from the connecting portion 2 to the display side, the connecting portion 2 is blocked from the display side by the light shielding member / light reflecting member 3 in the shape of a cross with a triangular cross-section and a size that does not cover the pixel. ing.

The surface of the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member 3 is processed to be a mirror surface for reflecting light. For example, a metal surface is polished or a plastic material is subjected to mirror surface treatment (plating or the like). It is a thing.

Then, an optical member 4 having a beam splitting function is provided so as to cover the light shielding member / light reflecting member 3 as described above. The optical member 4 is, for example, a transparent acrylic or the like trapezoidal, and has a size that covers at least one pixel 5 in the peripheral portion of the liquid crystal panel 1. Further, the angle θ of the portion in contact with the liquid crystal panel 1 is adjusted according to the refractive index of the material used.

Therefore, as shown by the arrow in FIG. 2, the light transmitted through the pixel 5 is incident on the optical member 4 and is transmitted through the optical member 4 and emitted from above by the beam splitting function of the optical member 4. , Which are reflected in the optical member 4 and directed toward the surface of the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member 3.
Since the surface of the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member 3 is a mirror surface as described above, the light is reflected upward and emitted from the optical member 4 here.

FIG. 3 is a side sectional view of a connecting portion showing a second embodiment,
The liquid crystal panel 1 is connected in the same manner as in the first embodiment, and the connecting portion 2 thereof is provided with a light shielding member / light reflecting member 3a and an optical member 4a having a beam splitting function under the same conditions as in the first embodiment. Are arranged. However, the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member 3a and the optical member 4a have a semicircular cross section.

As described above in detail, according to the present invention, in a large-sized display device in which a plurality of EL panels and the like are arranged so that a liquid crystal panel is connected to each other, a light-shielding material having a surface and a mirror surface is provided on a connection portion on the display surface side of the panel. Since the double-sided light reflecting member is arranged, the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member and the optical member having the beam splitting function are arranged so as to cover at least one pixel on the peripheral edge of the panel. ,
The light that is transmitted through the optical member and emitted and that is refracted in the optical member are separated, and the light refracted in the optical member goes to the surface of the light-shielding member / light-reflecting member where Is emitted.
