記録したデータの論理アドレスと物理アドレスとを対に
して記録する交代管理領域との3つの領域を記録媒体に
設け、再生装置が記録媒体の再生に先立って交代管理領
域の情報を読み込み外部装置が指示する論理アドレスを
物理アドレスに変換処理することにより、1管理単位内
の予備領域で代替できる不良セクタの発生に対してはこ
の管理単位内で対処することで高速なアクセスを実現す
る他、予備領域では代替できない多量の不良セクタの発
生に対しては交代記録領域を使用して対処すると共に交
代記録されたデータのアドレス情報を再生に先立って読
み込んでいる為、外部装置として接続する計算機は交代
記録を一切意識することなく論理アドレスを指示するだ
けの高速なアクセスが実現される。
