2. Description of the Related Art Heretofore, a body fluid treatment article in which a liquid-absorbent material is interposed between front and back sheets is known in which front and back sheets are partially integrally joined. For example, in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 57-156148, among sheets covering the front and back surfaces of an absorbent body made of a liquid-absorbent material such as crushed pulp and water-absorbent polymer, the surface sheet is a nonwoven fabric, Japanese paper,
A liquid-permeable material made of synthetic fiber, etc., and a liquid-impermeable back sheet made of synthetic resin film, etc., are integrally joined to each other in a state of partially digging in the thickness direction of the absorber. A fixed body fluid treatment article is disclosed. With this body fluid treatment product, even when an external force that deforms it when worn is applied, the surface sheet is always in close contact with the absorbent body without being separated from the upper surface of the absorbent body. Smooth transfer of body fluids to the body.

The absorbent body containing the superabsorbent polymer may have a significantly large volume due to the swelling of the polymer when absorbing body fluid.
In that case, in the body fluid treatment article of the above-mentioned known technology, the front and back sheets are joined to seal the free movement of these sheets and the absorber, so that the absorber is deformed so as to expand in the thickness direction. Easy to do. Particularly when the topsheet is made of a non-woven fabric having a relatively small basis weight and a small elongation stress, the topsheet tends to swell. When the absorbent body bulges in such a manner, the surface sheet has a large difference in the unevenness between the portion that is eaten toward the back sheet and the portion that is not, and the surface sheet loses its original surface state and becomes rugged. There is a problem in that the feeling becomes unpleasant and the feeling of wearing is impaired, and there is also a problem in that body fluid accumulates in the part that eats in such a way and impairs the feeling of wearing.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view taken along the line XX of FIG. 2, and shows a state when the liquid-absorbent material 4 absorbs liquid and the backsheet 3 swells by an imaginary line. In the napkin 1, as the superabsorbent polymer powder absorbs the liquid and swells, the recess 11 made of the easily stretchable meltblown nonwoven fabric swells. However, the napkin 1 in a worn state generally receives a strong compressive force in the thickness direction, and is unlikely to expand in that direction. However, in this napkin 1, since the gaps 12 and 13 having a required width are provided between the adjacent recesses 11, the backsheet 3 can swell in the lateral direction. On the other hand, the topsheet 2 does not remain flat and swell and become rugged.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION In the body fluid treatment article thus constructed,
While the surface of the topsheet is flattened, the backsheet is provided with recesses and the backsheet is more extensible than the topsheet, so that this treated article swells to the back side when liquid is absorbed. The topsheet does not lose its flatness, and therefore, there is no unevenness on the surface and it does not give a rugged feeling, or body fluid accumulates in the recesses and does not impair the wearing feeling.

Since the recesses of the back sheet are arranged at a required interval from each other, the recesses can swell in the lateral direction even when a pressing force acts in the thickness direction of the processing article.
