Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a supply reel with which the whole length of a conductive film tape wound around it can be set long, and of which winding diameter can be set small. CONSTITUTION:A supply reel 25 used for an application device to apply a conductive film 1 to an electrode 23 of a display panel 22 for attaching a driver to the display panel 22 is provided with a partition part 53 between a side plate 51 and a side plate 52 installed at both side parts of a shaft part 54 of it, and winding spaces T1-T4 for a conductive film tape adjacent to each other parted by the partiton part 53 are communicated with each other, where the partition part 53 is provided with an aperture part for inserting the conductive film tape from one winding space T1-T4 to the adjacent winding space T1-T4. Since a winding diameter of the conductive film tape can thus be set small, the conductive film is prevented from being crushed, and because the whole length of the conductive tape can be set long, a supply frequency of it can be reduced.

2. Description of the Related Art As a driver for a display panel such as a liquid crystal panel, a TAB (Tape Automated B) is used.
The electronic components manufactured by the onding method are widely used. As a method of connecting the driver and the electrode of the display panel, a method of adhering the driver to the electrode of the display panel with an anisotropic conductive film is known. FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the conductive film tape. In the conductive film tape 4, the upper interlayer tape 2 and the lower interlayer tape 3 are attached to the upper and lower surfaces of the conductive film 1 3
It is a layered structure. The conductive film 1 is formed of an epoxy-based synthetic resin mixed with conductive particles or the like, and has adhesiveness so that it can be attached to a display panel.

FIG. 7 is a front view showing an outline of a sticking device for a conductive film. The conductive film tape 4 is wound around the supply reel 7a, and the suction head 15 is drawn by a drawing means (not shown).
However, the lower interlayer tape 3 is peeled off from the conductive film 1 and wound onto the take-up reel 7b when the guide rollers 12 and 13 are circulated in the middle thereof.
The conductive film 1 and the upper interlayer tape 2 pulled out below the suction head 15 are cut into a predetermined length by a cutter 11 and picked up by the suction head 15. Next, the conductive film 1 and the display panel 2 which are vacuum-adsorbed on the lower surface of the adsorption head 15.
The conductive film 1 is attached to the electrodes of the display panel 22 by lowering the suction head 15 after aligning the two electrodes.

As described above, the conductive film tape 4 is wound around the supply reel 7a. If the number of windings (winding diameter) is increased (increased), the shaft portion (center portion) of the supply reel 7a.
A strong winding pressure is applied to the conductive film tape 4 wound near the conductive film 1, and the conductive film 1 is easily crushed. FIG. 8 shows A- of FIG.
A cross section A shows that the conductive film 1 is crushed by the strong winding pressure and protrudes to both sides of the upper interlayer tape 2, and both sides of the conductive film 1 adhere to the lower surface of the suction head 15. ing.

Thus, the conductive film 1 is crushed and the suction head 1 is crushed.
When it adheres to the lower surface of 5, the transfer of the conductive film 1 to the electrode 23 of the display panel 22 is likely to be disordered. In a later step, the upper interlayer tape 2 is peeled from the conductive film 1 to expose the conductive film 1 and then the driver is bonded to the conductive film 1. However, when the conductive film 1 is crushed in this way, The tape 2 is buried inside the conductive film 1 and becomes difficult to be easily peeled off from the conductive film 1.

For the above reasons, conventionally, the number of windings (winding diameter) of the conductive film tape 4 wound around the shaft portion of the supply reel 7a is reduced (decreased) so that the conductive film tape near the shaft portion can be reduced. No large winding pressure was applied to 4 to prevent the conductive film 1 from being crushed.

However, since the length of the conductive film tape 4 wound around the supply reel 7a is short, the conductive film tape 4 wound around the supply reel 7a is very short (about 20 minutes at present). Therefore, the operator has to replenish the conductive film tape 4 frequently, which requires a great deal of time and labor for operation management of the sticking device.

As shown in the figure, the conductive film tape 4 wound around the shaft portion 54 has a shaft portion 5 in the winding space adjacent to the outermost peripheral portion.
4 and is wound around this shaft portion 54. By doing so, the total length of the conductive film tape 4 can be reduced by continuously winding the plurality of winding spaces T1 to T4 while reducing the number of windings in one winding space, as shown in FIG. It can be four times as large as the supply reel 7a. That is, the number of windings (winding diameter) of the conductive film tape 4 in one winding is reduced (decreased), and the conductive film 1 is wound by the winding pressure.
It is possible to remarkably increase the total length of the conductive film tape 4 while avoiding being crushed.

Next, the rod 33 of the cylinder 32 projects,
The suction head 15 descends and vacuum-sucks the upper interlayer tape 2 on its lower surface. Next, as shown in FIG. 5 (c), the rod 14 of the cylinder 10 projects and the pressing block 9 descends.
After pressing the conductive film tape 4 on the upper surface of the fixed block 41, the cutter 11 moves up and down to cut the conductive film 1 and the upper interlayer tape 2 into a predetermined length. Next, withdrawal means 5
After the clamper 6 is released from the clamped state, the suction head 15 picks up the conductive film 1 and the upper interlayer tape 2 which are vacuum-sucked on the lower surface thereof, and aligns the conductive film 1 and the electrode 23 of the display panel. Then, the conductive film 1 is attached onto a predetermined electrode 23 of the display panel 22.

As described above, according to the supply reel of the conductive film tape of the present invention, the conductive film tape can be wound in a plurality of winding spaces, so that the total length thereof is wider than that of the conventional supply reel. Since the length of the conductive film can be increased and the number of windings (winding diameter) of the conductive film tape in one winding space can be reduced (reduced), the conductive film is not crushed by the winding pressure, and therefore the conductive film is not crushed. The frequency of running out of tape will be drastically reduced, and the operator's operational management burden will be significantly reduced.
