Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent drop of adhesive strength due to the flowing out of an adhesive agent, and finish the joint part beautifully not to be outstanding in its appearance by simplifying the joining work at the time of joining comparatively thick synthetic board materials such as artificial marble in butting their end surfaces together into a plane surface. CONSTITUTION:By slantly cutting the joint surface of at least one board material and forming it into an inclined surface, an adequate quantity of an adhesive agent 3 is ensured therebetween in the case of butting the joint end surfaces of both board materials together. The clamping of both board materials during joint is conducted such that projections 5 are secured preliminarily at the corresponding place on the surface of both board materials, and these projections 5 are clamped together by means of a clamper 6. After the completion of joint, the clamper 6 and projections 5 are dislodged, and a grinding finishment of the surface is performed thereafter.

[0003] Conventionally, as one method for joining the end faces of such a plate material in a butt shape, as shown in FIG.
Further, as shown in FIG. 5, a pair of rod-shaped stoppers (13) (13) are fixed in parallel on a horizontal surface plate work table (10) at a predetermined interval, and these stoppers are mutually connected. The first and second plate materials (11) and (12) to be joined are arranged side by side and horizontally, and their joined end faces (11a)
An adhesive is applied between (12a) to make the end faces butt together, and then the stopper (13) and each plate (1)
1) A wedge piece (14) is driven between the outer end face of (12) and both plate bodies (11) and (12) are brought close to each other to bring both joint end faces into close contact with each other, and plate bodies (11) and (12). If necessary, a weight piece (15) is placed on the plate body and allowed to stand in order to prevent the occurrence of a step due to the floating of the joint part of the, and after the adhesive hardens, the restraint by the wedge piece (14) is released, The method of polishing the part is adopted.

However, in the case of the above method, it is difficult to properly adjust the tightening pressure of both plate bodies (11) and (12) by driving the wedge piece (14), and it is often the case. There is a defect that the adhesive strength is insufficient due to excessive outflow of the adhesive due to excess, or conversely, the tightening pressure is insufficient or the joint portion is displaced due to imbalance, and the appearance is deteriorated. Furthermore, even if the weight piece (15) is used, there is an unavoidable tendency that a step is likely to occur at the joint portion, and there is a drawback that polishing and finishing work of the joint portion after joining requires a lot of time and labor.

The first and second plate members (1) and (2) to be joined to each other are, for example, methyl methacrylate, which is known as artificial marble, aluminum hydroxide,
It is made of a resin composition in which an inorganic powder filler such as magnesium hydroxide is dispersedly contained, and is generally formed to have a thickness of about 10 to 15 mm. In the case of the above-mentioned artificial marble, the adhesive (3) used for joining them is generally a mixed solution of methyl methacrylate and an amine accelerator, and an organic perferate solution as a composition for polymerization and curing. It consists of and and is used as a mixture just before use.

One is, as shown in a slightly exaggerated manner in FIG. 3, one of the first plate members (1) to be bonded to each other or both of the first and second plate members (1) and (2) are joined end faces. Is obliquely cut in the thickness direction of the plate material to form an inclined joint end surface (1a).
To form. This inclination angle (θ) is determined by both plate materials (1).
When the joining end faces (1a) and (2a) of (2) are butted, a width of 0.1 to 0.
It is necessary and sufficient to set a gap (c) of 5 mm. If this gap (c) is too small, it is difficult to always ensure stable and sufficient bonding strength, and if it is too large, the amount of adhesive filled in the bonding portion increases, and the bonding strength is rather increased. descend. Plate material (1)
Although it depends on the plate thickness of (2), the preferable width of the gap is 0.2.
It is good to set it to about 0.3 mm.

In another preparatory work step, on the plate surfaces of the first and second plate members (1) and (2), in the vicinity of the end faces where the joint end faces (1a) and (2a) to be joined to each other are present, The clamping projections (5) (5) made of wood or other hard material are adhesively fixed at corresponding positions. It is preferable to provide a plurality of the protruding pieces (5) at predetermined intervals according to the widths of the plate materials (1) and (2). Further, it is advantageous in terms of work that the fixation is made by adhering and fixing to the plate surface using, for example, an instant adhesive.
It is preferable to use a wood piece such as plywood for the projecting piece (5) in terms of cost, material, easiness of removal, etc., but not limited to this, and a synthetic resin piece or the like may be used.

Then, after the adhesive (3) is applied to both joint end faces (1a) and (1b) or a predetermined amount of the adhesive is injected between both end faces, the adhesive (3) is applied to each end face. Both plate materials (1) and (2) are brought close to each other so as to be in a butt shape via 3), and each pair of projecting pieces (5) at corresponding positions.
(5) The clampers (6) are attached to each other and tightened so that the upper edge portions of the joint end faces (1a) and (2a) are brought into close contact with each other at a required pressure. At this time, both joint end faces (1a)
At least one of (2a) is formed on the slanted joint end face (1a), so that the upper edges are closely contacted with each other and the gap (c) is left in the lower part as shown in FIG. The adhesive (3) is held in the filled state. For this reason, even if it is tightened a little too strongly, it is possible to prevent the adhesive (3) between both joint end faces from being almost extruded and causing a phenomenon of insufficient adhesive. As a result, a required amount of adhesive is surely interposed between the joint end faces, and stable joint strength can be secured.

Only by tightening with the clamper (6), both plate materials (1) rarely occur due to imbalance of the surface plate work table (4), uneven tightening pressure among the clampers, and the like.
(2) causes a vertical displacement at the joint,
A step may occur at the joint. Therefore, in order to avoid such a trouble, the edge portions of both plate materials (1) and (2) may be provided at one end or both ends of the joint as necessary as shown in FIG. It is desirable that the clamper (7) be used together with the surface plate section of (1) to prevent vertical displacement.

Then, after this joining is completed, the clampers (6) and (7) are removed, and the projecting piece (5) is tapped with a hammer or the like to separate or break the adhesive in the vicinity of the lower surface of the adhesive for removal. Then, by using a sander or the like, the protruding portion (3a) of the adhesive (3) along the joint and the sticking residue or adhesive residue remaining on the plate surface after removal of the protruding piece (5) are polished and removed, In particular, the surface in the vicinity of the joint should be finished smooth.

As described above, according to the present invention, the joining end faces of at least one of the plate members to be joined to each other are formed in an inclined shape, and at the time of joining, there is a gap between the joining end faces of both plate members as they reach one end. Since a widened gap is created, it is possible to retain a necessary and sufficient amount of adhesive at the joint regardless of the magnitude of the tightening pressure at the time of joining. Therefore, under the condition that a sufficient tightening pressure is applied and the relative positional relationship between both plate materials is firmly secured, reliable bonding with excellent bonding strength can be performed without excessive outflow of the adhesive. Further, the work of mounting the projection on the plate surface and the work of tightening with the clamper are required, but any work can be easily performed without requiring special skill, and the conventional wedge piece is used. Compared with the delicate adjustment work of tightening pressure, the work is less difficult and the plate materials can be joined efficiently by a simple operation.

Further, at the joining portion on the front surface side of the sheet material, both sheet materials are joined in a state where the edges of the joining end faces are in close contact,
After polishing and removing the protruding adhesive, it has a seamless appearance with almost no visible joint lines.
