Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a multilingual display on a terminal side without modifying the software on a host device side in the case of usage wherein display message can be prescribed like in menu for, operation. CONSTITUTION:Character patterns corresponding to inputted character codes are taken out of a character pattern storage device 3 and displayed on a character display device 2. A data storage device 1 stored with plural character patterns and plural character code strings is provided and a character pattern indicated by a command inputted from a communication line is taken out of the data storage device 1 and stored in the character pattern storage device 3.

Claim: What is claimed is: 1. A character pattern storage device, a character display device for extracting and displaying a character pattern corresponding to an input character code from the character pattern storage device, a plurality of character patterns and a plurality of characters. A data storage device for storing a code string and a character pattern designated by a command input from a communication line are extracted from the data storage device and stored in the character pattern storage device, and a command input via the communication line is further stored. And a terminal control device for sending the character code string instructed to the data storage device.
