In the case of M, the control program is input from the external device 12 via the I/O interface 11 to the memory 2 that stores the control program. The input method is that the CPU 1 reads whether or not to load the control program when the power is turned on via the contact 8 and the contact interface 7, executes the boot program, and sends the information from the external device 12 via the I/O interface 11. Load the control program into memory 2.

。The conventional method of loading a control program into a control device was constructed as described above, and therefore could not be carried out without manual intervention. For example, if memory 2 is ROM, RO
It is impossible for the user to replace the printed circuit board on which M is mounted, and the replacement work must be performed by the manufacturer's service personnel, and at that time, the machine must be stopped. Also, even if memory 2 is RAM, the manufacturer must send the latest control program and load it when the machine is free. At that time, the machine must be stopped. There wasn't.

When the machining program for electrical discharge machining is completed, the time at that time is checked to determine whether or not the machine is idle. The idle time of the machine is input in advance into the control device by the user using the keyboard 6, and is stored in the memory 14. Machine idle time refers to the time period during which the machine is stopped when a machining program is completed during that time period. If the machining program ends while this machine is idle, memory 1
The program No. 4 runs, and the control program is loaded. The operation will be explained using the flowchart of FIG. First, the modem 13 is initialized via the I/O interface 11, dials the host station, and connects the telephone line (step 20). If the connection is not completed, repeat step 20. When the connection is completed, the ID number of the control device is transmitted to the host station (step 21). Next, the latest control program version is received from the host station (step 22) and compared with the version in the control device stored in the memory 14 (step 23).
). If the versions do not match, the host station is requested to download the control program, and the control program is downloaded to the memory 2 (step 24). When the download is completed, the version in the memory 14 is updated (step 25).
), and disconnects from the host station (step 26). if,
When compared with the version in the control device (step 23), if the versions match, the control program is not downloaded and the connection with the host station is cut off (step 26). In addition, in this embodiment, loading of all the control programs has been explained, but the control programs can be divided into, for example, display programs, servo programs, etc.
Compare individual versions of relay sequence programs, etc.
May be loaded individually.
