Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the connection time with a host computer and to prevent mis-dialing of a telephone number by bringing a host device and the portable terminal into the on-line state in response to bar code information of a bar code part read by a bar code reader. CONSTITUTION:Bar code information resulting from bar-coding a telephone number of a host device is displayed on a bar code section 2, bar code information read by a bar code reader 3 from the bar code section 2 is converted into a dial pulse and the result is sent to a telephone set to bring the state with the host device into the on-line state.
