Abstract

PURPOSE:To clean the end face and the inner face of a bulb simultaneously with one brush by providing a circular cylinder part for touching the inner face of a bulb and a conic part for touching the end face of the bulb continuously to the circular cylinder part in a rotating brush. CONSTITUTION:A rotating brush 10 integrally comprises circular cylinder part 11 for touching the inner face of a bulb 1 and a conic part 12 for touching the end face of the bulb 1 continuously to the circular cylinder part 11, and the circular cylinder part 11 and the conic part 12 are respectively formed by plating hairs in a rotating brush 13. When the rotating brush 10 is rotated while it is inserted into the bulb 1, the circular cylinder part 11 is progressed into the end face of the bulb 1 to touch the inner face 1a of the bulb 1 for cleaning. Furthermore, when the brush 10 is progressed more, the circular cylinder part 11 cleans the inner face 1a of the bulb 1 and while the conic part 12 touches the end face 1b of the bulb 1 to clean the end face 1b. The end inner face 1a and the end face 1b of the bulb 1 are cleaned simultaneously with one brush.

Fluorescent lamps like the one shown in item 2 are made by applying a phosphor to the inner surface of a pre-cleaned bulb, firing it, sealing the stem of the electrode mount to the end of the bulb, and then evacuating the inside of the bulb. It is filled with inert gas and mercury.

That is, during the process of applying the phosphor to the inner surface of the bulb, the phosphor drips down and adheres to the end of the bulb, and such phosphor needs to be removed.

However, with such a configuration, it is necessary to prepare an internal brush and an external brush, respectively, which increases the number and types of brushes used, making the device complex, and the internal brush is used to clean the inner surface of the end of the valve. After cleaning, the outer surface of the end of the valve is wiped with a brush for the outer surface, or the outer surface of the end of the valve is separately performed in the reverse order, which increases the number of work steps and has the disadvantage that the work efficiency is not good.

By the way, in cleaning the glass bulb as described above, it has been found that it is not necessary to clean a large area of the outer surface of the bulb because it is sufficient to wipe away the melted portion of the bulb and stem.

In other words, in order to clean a glass bulb, it is sufficient to brush the end face of the bulb and the subsequent end of the inner surface of the bulb.

That is, FIG. 3 shows a state in which the inner surface rotating brush 2-C is wiping the end of the inner surface 1a of the valve 1, and FIG. 4 shows a state in which the end surface 1b of the valve 1 is being cleaned with the end surface rotating brush 3. shows.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, even when cleaning the valve 1 with the rotating brushes 2 and 3 as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 above, the types and number of brushes increase, making the device complicated. At the same time, after cleaning the inner surface 1a of the end portion of the valve 1 with the rotating brush 2 for the inner surface, the end surface 1b of the valve 1 is wiped with the rotating brush 3 for the end surface, or in the reverse order, each work is performed separately. Therefore, there are many work steps, which has the disadvantage of not improving work efficiency.
