Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the height of the shoulder portion of a seat belt device steplessly and continuously by engaging the end portion of an anchor base which is vertically slidable along a guide rail with a coil type rotary member and rotating the coil type rotary member. CONSTITUTION:An anchor base 3 is vertically movably installed on a guide rail 4 installed on a body pillar portion, etc. An anchor 2 is fixed to one end of the anchor base 3 to support the webbing 1 of a seat belt. The other end of the anchor base 3 is engaged with a coil type rotary member 5 provided in parallel to the guide rail 4. As the coil type rotary member 5 is rotated, the anchor base 3 can be lifted up/down steplessly and continuously being guided by the guide rail 4. Thereby, the height of the shoulder portion of the seat belt can be set to an optional height.

In order to safely protect an occupant with a seat belt device, it is necessary to adjust the position of the anchor member that supports the webbing. This is because the sitting heights and physiques of occupants who wear seat belts vary, and if the shoulder webbing anchor member is positioned too high, the webbing may catch on the occupant's face or neck.

Moreover, if it is too low, it will come off the shoulder and rest on the arm, so in either case, there is a risk that the occupant will not be effectively protected in an emergency.

Conventional shoulder height adjustment mechanisms for seatbelt devices include a type in which the anchor member is positioned by inserting a lock pin into a hole in the positioning member, and a type in which the anchor member is positioned in conjunction with the rotation of a screw. There is a type that moves and positions.

With the type that inserts a lock pin into a hole, positioning can only be done at discontinuous hole positions, and delicate height adjustments cannot be made. Furthermore, when adjusting the height, it is inconvenient to have to manually carry the anchor member to the desired position, and it is difficult to automate the height IR section by motorizing the adjustment mechanism. .

In the type that moves the anchor member up and down by rotating a screw, it is necessary to cut both the drive screw and the screw on the anchor member side, which increases the number of manufacturing steps and costs.

The guide rails 4 extend, for example, from the roof side of the vehicle body to the center pillar, and are attached to the vehicle body by brackets 6. A webbing 1 for restraining an occupant is connected to an anchor 2 that is movable in the longitudinal direction within a guide rail 4, and the anchor 2 is connected to an anchor base 3.
When the webbing 1 is engaged with the webbing 1, the webbing 1 receives a load that causes it to break. The anchor base 3 includes a rotating member S, which will be described later.
When it is operated, it is guided by the guide rail 4 and slides up and down. A coil-shaped rotating member 5 is provided parallel to the guide rail 4. The coil-shaped rotating member 5 is rotatably supported by brackets 6 at its upper and lower ends, and is engaged with a hole in the anchor base 3.

When the lower gear of the coiled rotating member 5 is driven manually or electrically to rotate, the anchor base 3 moves upward or downward along the guide rail 4. When the rotation of the coiled rotating member 5 is stopped at a desired position, the anchor base 3 is fixed at that position. Even if a force is applied to the coiled rotating member 5 from the anchor base 3 side, the pitch of the coil is small, so the coil will not rotate and the position of the anchor base 3 will not change.

The second embodiment is applied to an active type seat belt device, and differs from the first embodiment in that the guide rail 4' is provided only between both brackets 6.6, and the anchor 2' is rotatably supported on the anchor base 3' (the mounting bolt is not shown), and the coil-shaped rotating member 5 and the anchor base 3 are engaged with each other. In this embodiment, the end of the anchor base 3 is formed into a T-shape so that the T-shape engages the coil.
