Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the dust-proof of a telephone set by comprising the telephone set of a switch to detect the on-hook and off-hook of the telephone set and a conductive rubber sensor. CONSTITUTION:The switch to detect the on-hook and off-hook of the handset 1 of the telephone set is comprised of the conductive rubber sensor 3 whose resistance value changes by the load of the handset 1. When the handset 1 is raised above the cabinet 2 of the telephone set, the electrical resistance value of the conductive rubber sensor 3 is increased, and when it is returned to its original position, the electrical resistance value of the conductive rubber sensor 3 is decreased by the load of the handset, therefore, the on-hook and off-hook states of the handset 1 can be detected by detecting the electrical resistance value.

Conventionally, the hook switch part of a telephone is a mechanical switch that utilizes the elastic force of a spring, and the load of the handset is applied to the switch that protrudes from a hole in the top of the handset of the telephone. The on-hook state and off-hook state were determined based on whether the user was present or not. Therefore, in the on-hook state, there is a gap in the casing of the hook switch section, resulting in poor dust resistance.

The hook switch section of the conventional telephone mentioned above is a mechanical switch that sticks out from the phone's housing, so there is a gap between the housing and the switch, making it difficult to use in factories or dry areas. There is a drawback that dust, sand, etc. can get into the inside of the phone casing, causing malfunctions.

In order to achieve the above object, in the telephone according to the present invention, the hook switch section for determining whether the telephone is on-hook or off-hook is constituted by a conductive rubber sensor whose electrical resistance value changes depending on the applied pressure.

In the figure, 1 is the handset of the telephone, 2 is the telephone housing,
3 is a conductive rubber sensor whose electric resistance value changes depending on the load of the handset 1; 4 is an electrode attached to the conductive rubber sensor for detecting the electric resistance value; 5 is a conductive rubber sensor for transmitting signals from the conductive rubber sensor 3 and electrode 4 inside the telephone. This is a signal line that is routed inside the phone case to send data to the electrical circuit. When the handset 1 is lifted, the electrical resistance value of the conductive rubber sensor 3 increases, and when the handset 1 is returned to its original position, the electrical resistance value decreases due to the load. The change in electrical resistance of the conductive rubber sensor 3 is sent as an electrical signal to the telephone circuit via the electrode 4 and signal line 5, thereby establishing an off-hook state.

As explained above, the present invention provides an alternative to a mechanical hook switch on the part of the telephone housing where the handset is placed.
By using a conductive rubber sensor whose electrical resistance changes depending on the load on the handset, it eliminates the gaps that would be a problem with mechanical hook switches, improving dust resistance and preventing dust, dirt, sand, etc. This has the effect of preventing failures caused by such problems even when used in environments or areas where such problems occur.
