Abstract

PURPOSE:To use all communication ports in a control board at the time of data transfer by providing a copying controller with a serial communication controller which exchanges data with the controlled parts of a copying machine and also transfers data in a nonvolatile memory between the control board. CONSTITUTION:The control board is provided with a master CPU 301 and a slave CPU 302, which communicate with each other by means of a dual port RAM 303 a control copying. The serial communication controller has an interruption controller 310, an operation part controller 311, etc., which are connected with each control part by an optical fiber. A backup circuit is added to a RAM 305, and machine history concerning data required for copying, the number of fed papers, energization time, etc., is stored in the RAM 305 and remains even when a main switch is truned off. Thus, data in the nonvolatile memory can be maintained without adding a new communication port even when the control board is replaced.

The reflected light from the original passes through the first mirror 104, the through lens 105, and the second mirror 106 to expose the belt photoreceptor 107. The belt photoreceptor 107 is uniformly charged with a charge by the charger 10B, and forms an electrostatic latent image by exposure. The electrostatic latent image on the belt photoreceptor 107 is erased by the eraser 1
09 removes the charge on the unnecessary portion, develops it in a developing device 110, and sends it to the transfer section. Then, the developed original image is transferred onto a transfer paper by a transfer charger 111. This transfer paper is stored in paper feed trays 112, 113, and 114.
The paper is fed from one of the above, passes through a conveyance path 115, and is sent to a transfer unit by registration rollers 116 in time with the original image. The transfer paper on which the image has been formed passes through a conveyor belt 117, is fixed by a fixing device 118, and is conveyed to a discharge tray 119.

The document on the contact glass 101 is transferred to the document conveyor belt 2.
04, the document is sent out after the light irradiation is completed, and returned to the document tray 201 by the document discharge roller 206. The document ejection roller 206 can rotate forward and backward, and if you want the front and back sides of the document to be the same as the original state, the trailing edge of the document will be rotated by the document switching claw 20.

The contents stored in the nonvolatile memory (RAM 305, 316) include initial setting values such as erase adjustment values and resist adjustment values, light intensity adjustment values that change over time, and charge amount adjustment values, as well as logging data. As the number of sheets passed,
These include the number of misfeeds, energization time, motor drive time, etc. These data are useful for knowing the condition of machines and reducing maintenance time. Therefore, it is desirable that data continue even if the board is replaced due to failure.
