Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain an interchange with a two-side type medium with a simple structure by making the thickness of a hub equal to a thickness that two disks are pasted. CONSTITUTION:An information recording layer 1 is formed on a transparent substrate 2 and by projecting a laser beam 3 from one side, information can be recorded and reproduced. A hub 6 joined to the central part of the substrate 2 with adhesive agent has the thickness equal to the thickness that two optical disks are pasted. Consequently, it is clamped by the same clamp mechanisms 7 and 7' as those by which the two-side type optical disk medium is fitted. The hub 6 has a center hole and by fitting a center pin 8 of a device, the center of the disk is set and the center pin 8 is prevented from damaging the inner circumference part of the substrate 2. Thus, the interchangeability with the two-side type disk medium can be held with the simple structure.

成するハブが接合されて成るハブ付光ディスク媒体に関
する。

録層単層膜の場合と各種の補助層(反射層、保護層、干
渉層等)との複合層の場合とがあり、厚さ100Aから
1μm程度である。図示していないが記録層1,1′の
上に更に0.5〜50μm8度の保護層を設けることも
ある。2,2′は透明な基板であり、一般的には1.2
朋の厚さであるが、0.2〜4朋程度の場合もあり、こ
の2枚の基板を接着層14で貼り合せることにより、光
ディスクが構成されている。3 、3’ u情報の書込

出し、書込み装置においては、両面型ディスク媒体及び
片面型ディスク媒体に対し、双方とも装着できる互換性
をもつことが重要である。しかし、装置にこのような互
換性の為の機構を設けようとすると、大幅なコストアッ
プにつながる。そこで従来は、ディスク媒体を第3図に
示すような構成としていた。第3図は、片面型ディスク
媒体の模式断面図を示す。図中の1.2.3は各々第2
図と同様に情報記録層、基板、レーザー光の入射方向を
示す。5はリング形状のスペーサ一部材であり、光デイ
スク装置のクランプ機構に対応する部分が第2図の基板
2′と同じ厚さになるように設けられている。4はスペ
ーサ一部材5を接着している接着層である。第3図に示
す片面型ディスク媒体は、両面型ディスクと互換性をも
ちうるが、第4図のようなノ・プ16.16’を有さな
い為、透明基板2とセンターピン8が接触し、光ディス
クにカケやヒビが生じ易く、回転中心も出しにくかった
