Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a band for wrist watches which requires no clasp, is simple in structure and has a snug fit to a wrist by utilizing the superelastic characteristic of a shape memory alloy. CONSTITUTION:The material which is the shape memory alloy of an Ni-Ti system and has a 45--5 deg.C range of the temp. at which the superelasticity in particular is exhibited is used as the band for wrist watches. The shape memory alloy which has the required superelastic characteristic and has the characteristic of the temp. range as wide as 50 deg.C is only the Ni-Ti alloy. The structure of this band involves mounting of the watch to the band. The band having the intrinsic shape for wrist watches is obtd. by previously forming the shapes of, for example, every person, to the same wrist shape by utilization of gypsum and keeping the plate of the shape memory alloy at the temp. region of martensite, then subjecting the plate to a heat treatment for 30min-4hr at 400-500 deg.C in the metallic mold transferred the shape of the wrist.

Conventional wristwatch bands require a clasp 11 made by folding and bending a metal plate. Conventional watch bands always have a clasp, just as even leather watch bands require a clasp, and for this reason, the clasp 11 is expensive, and the clasp part may break or the clasp part may not fit. Due to its rounded shape, there were problems such as dirt remaining.

According to the present invention, a Ni-Ti type shape memory alloy material having a temperature range of 45° C. to -5° C., which exhibits superelasticity, is used for a watch band. In addition to Ni-Ti materials, materials exhibiting shape memory properties include Cu-Zn-
Materials such as Al alloys and Fe-Mn-8i alloys are known, but shape memory alloys that have the superelastic properties required by the present invention and have properties over a wide temperature range of 50°C. is only a Ni-Ti alloy. Ni is almost 50.5
By processing an alloy with at% residual Ti into a plate and then heat-treating it at 400°C to 500°C for 30 minutes to 4 hours, it can be made into a material with superelastic properties in the range of 45°C to -5°C. .

FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a bracelet-type watch band using a shape memory alloy. Figure 1 shows a structure in which a shape memory alloy watch band and a watch are made in one piece, and the watch is attached to the band. For this watch band, for example, the shape of each individual's wrist is made in advance using plaster, and the shape is made to fit the wrist of the person who uses the watch. The shape of the band was adjusted to 400℃ using a mold that matched the shape of the wrist of the person using the watch.
By heat-treating at a temperature of 30 minutes to 4 hours at a temperature of 500° C. to 500° C., a watch band having a unique shape can be obtained.

The shape memory alloy watch band 4 was heated to 45° C. as described above.
A material is used that exhibits superelastic properties in the temperature range from -5°C. In this embodiment, the watch band 4 and the watch 2 are completely fitted and fixed together with the connecting rod 5 and the fitting part 6 of the connecting rod on the watch side. When the watch band 4 is worn on the wrist, that is, when it is kept at the temperature of the human body, it exhibits superelastic properties, and even if the wrist is moved, the wrist is always tightened with the same force. The feeling of wearing the watch is excellent.

In the present invention, the temperature range exhibiting superelastic properties is set at 45°C to -5°C because the purpose of use is a wristwatch band, and the maximum temperature in daily use is 45°C in the hot summer.
On the other hand, in order to create a stable austenite phase to ensure superelastic properties in a Ni-Ti alloy memory alloy, as mentioned above, the alloy composition ratio of Ni and Ti,
Generally, in order to obtain a stable austenite phase below 0°C, it is possible to obtain a stable austenite phase by increasing the Ni composition ratio and the heat treatment temperature, but the value of the allowable deformation that does not cause permanent deformation is If the upper limit temperature at which the superelastic properties can be stably guaranteed is 45°C, the lower limit that can be obtained with the same material is about 15°C.

Margin below - Date - [Effects of the invention] The watch band uses superelastic shape memory alloy, and since the band is constantly heated by body temperature, it retains its superelastic properties and is divided into two parts. The band can be opened and closed easily. To provide an excellent watch band that has a good mechanism, is easy to fit on the wrist, and does not rust because Ni-Ti type shape memory alloy is used.
