The illumination function can be realized and improved.
In addition, the present invention has a plurality of lights (for example, R, G, and B LEDs) that constitute a backlight for a key backlight that illuminates a key operation unit of a mobile phone, and each light can be independently controlled. It is characterized by that. In addition, each of the constituent lights has RGB color elements, and can be lit with an arbitrary color and luminance by setting each luminance of RGB. By arranging this light on the back side of the key operation unit, the color, brightness, and lighting timing of each light are independently controlled, and key backlight control with a high degree of freedom is realized. As a characteristic use example, when the casing is opened, the key backlight blinks vividly and is used as key illumination. Key illumination can be set and changed under predetermined conditions according to the user's preference.
In this way, it is possible to provide a mobile phone capable of turning the key backlight into RGB and lighting it with an arbitrary color and timing.
As described above, according to the present invention, the light source constituted by the R lighting element, the G lighting element, and the B lighting element is provided in the vicinity of the key operation unit, and R, G, B of this light source is provided. As a result, the key backlight can be turned on in any color, and can be turned on in various patterns as compared with the case where the single-color key backlight is turned on. Further, since the light source can emit each color of R, G, and B, light can be emitted (illuminated) with various colors according to the combination of the lighting states of R, G, and B. .
In addition, according to the present invention, it is possible to realize key illumination lighting that shines when the mobile phone is opened.

Moreover, according to this invention, the key illumination created by the third party can be downloaded to the mobile phone.

Next, key backlight lighting control will be described.

FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example of a lighting pattern of the
Here, for example, the colors A to E of each light are determined by the ratio of the luminance of each of R, G, and B of the light 202. Each light 202 is independently controlled so that each light is turned on so as to have a different color (here, color A to color E), luminance, and lighting timing. This realizes key backlight control with a high degree of freedom.
Next, a scene using key backlight independent lighting (key illumination) will be described.
(1) Key illumination in conjunction with opening and closing of a folding mobile phone In this embodiment, the
The lighting pattern that is turned on when the housing is opened can be arbitrarily set by the user, and the user can enjoy the set illumination every time the housing is opened. The user can also set the lighting pattern to his liking. This lighting pattern can also be set at random. From the lighting patterns prepared in advance, the lighting pattern is selected at random each time the casing is opened, and the illumination is turned on according to the selected lighting pattern. After the illumination lighting ends, in preparation for key operation, the
Next, a lighting pattern of key illumination (lighting pattern that can be realized by independent control of the key backlight) will be described. Examples of the lighting pattern include the following patterns (1) to (5).
(1) Lighting with movement (Change the setting of the number of frames specified per second to realize a lighting pattern with movement)
(2) Illuminated with a unified color on the entire surface (R, G, B brightness can be set, so various colors can be set by blending colors)
(3) Gradation (setting where the color and brightness of adjacent lights change smoothly and continuously)
(4) Random (The color and brightness of each light are selected at random)
(5) Represent pictures (icons), numbers, and letters (represent shapes by selecting lighting points)
As an application example of the above (1) to (5), (1) an example of gradation lighting with movement will be described.
Gradation lights in red gradually from the upper part of the key (near the operation key), and gradation gradation lights gradually in blue from the lower part of the key (near the
As for the lighting pattern, a wide variety of lighting can be performed by independent control. However, the lighting pattern has different preferences depending on the individual as with the design of the mobile phone. Here, there are the following setting methods (1) to (2) in order to cope with various preferences of the user.
(1) Several kinds of lighting patterns that are determined to be optimal for a mobile device by pre-installation by a manufacturer designer are prepared, and the user selects and sets them.
(2) An environment in which a user can create a lighting pattern is prepared (for example, a key illumination creation tool is downloaded to a PC), and a lighting pattern with a unique user can be set.
As an environment for creating a lighting pattern, an environment for preparing an application layer of a mobile phone and an environment for creating using a key illumination creation tool software on a PC are prepared. As described with reference to FIG. 3, the
(3) Disclose the created lighting pattern data on the Internet, and provide an environment that can be downloaded and used by anyone other than the creator.
It has the following features as additional functions. In order to secure the function as a key backlight, if the key is pressed while the illumination is lit, the illumination is stopped and the key printing (button numbers and symbols) is switched to an easy-to-see lighting. As an example, the brightness of the light 202 may be a small lamp, and the color of each light 202 may be a unified color on the entire surface. About the color at the time of lighting by the whole surface unified color, the lighting pattern can be set so that it can be lighted by various colors by mixing (mixing color) of R, G, and B colors. This is a measure that takes into account the fact that the key part blinks violently during key illumination, making it difficult to see the key printout. When it is determined that the user presses the key and performs the key operation, the illumination lighting is stopped even if the illumination is lit.
As described above, in the above-described embodiment, the
Next, an example of a scene where key illumination is performed will be described.
In the case of a slide type mobile phone, the key illumination lighting linked to opening / closing of the mobile phone 1 is performed in conjunction with the key portion appearing (open state). In addition, even in the case of a mobile phone having a special shape, when the key portion is expanded to appear outside, key illumination lighting is performed in conjunction with the key portion.
As an implementation method other than the RGB light, a method of independently controlling a single color light and realizing illumination may also be executed. In this case, the color development effect is not as great as when the RGB lights are independently controlled. However, since the number of lights can be increased, it is possible to realize illumination with rich expressive power. In addition, since the monochromatic light is less expensive than the RGB light, it is possible to use a large number of lights employed for the key backlight. In this case, it is possible to express pictures (icons), numbers, and characters precisely by combining turning on and off of these lights.
It is also possible to light the key illumination during various communications of the mobile phone 1. In this embodiment, the key illumination is turned on during infrared data transmission / reception, mail transmission / reception, voice call transmission / reception, data downloading from the network, communication with the IC chip, and each communication is completed. It is also possible to turn on an illumination to notify the completion of communication at the time. One example will be described below.
(1) Key illumination during mail transmission After the user creates a mail, the key illumination lights up when the user presses the send button. When the email transmission is complete, the illumination lights up vividly to inform you that the transmission is complete. Here, since the key part appears (open state) at the time of mail transmission, the key illumination lighting is effective because it is noticed by the user.
(2) Key illumination during infrared communication Key illumination is turned on while exchanging phone book data between two mobile phones and during transmission / reception of each content (still image, video, melody, etc.). The key illumination on the transmission side is a lighting pattern indicating the state of transmission. An example of this lighting is shown in FIG. A light representing an
In addition, there is a pattern in which a plurality of arrows are lit by gradation expression. The lighting of the arrow represents a shape by selecting a light to be lit from among the arranged lights. Since several frames blink per second, it is possible to change the lighting position.
When the transmission is complete, the illumination lights up vividly to inform you that the communication is complete. Similarly, the receiving side mobile phone has a lighting pattern indicating a receiving state. The key illumination is used as a method for the user to express his / her own identity with the aim of appealing his / her key illumination to the communication partner when exchanging data between users.
(3) Key illumination is turned on when the power of the mobile phone is turned on. When the power of the mobile phone 1 is turned on, the key illumination is turned on in conjunction with this. When the mobile phone 1 is turned on, a wake-up message is displayed on the main display to indicate that the power is turned on. Here, the key illumination lights up in conjunction with the message display on the main display. Key illumination shines with a moving lighting pattern and is used as a production effect when the power is turned on. Similarly, the key illumination is turned on when the power is turned off.
Further, the program for realizing the function of the cellular phone 1 in FIG. 1 is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium, and the program recorded on the recording medium is read into the computer system and executed, whereby the illumination is turned on. Control may be performed. Here, the “computer system” includes an OS and hardware such as peripheral devices.
Further, the “computer system” includes a homepage providing environment (or display environment) if a WWW system is used.
The “computer-readable recording medium” refers to a storage device such as a flexible medium, a magneto-optical disk, a portable medium such as a ROM and a CD-ROM, and a hard disk incorporated in a computer system. Furthermore, the “computer-readable recording medium” dynamically holds a program for a short time like a communication line when transmitting a program via a network such as the Internet or a communication line such as a telephone line. In this case, a volatile memory in a computer system serving as a server or a client in that case, and a program that holds a program for a certain period of time are also included. The program may be a program for realizing a part of the functions described above, and may be a program capable of realizing the functions described above in combination with a program already recorded in a computer system.
