Claims (13)
- 通信ネットワークにおいて、ソフトウェア制御プレーン制御システムによってサービスを制御する方法であって、該方法は、
前記通信ネットワークにおけるハードウェアエンドポイント及び通信接続に関する情報、前記通信ネットワークを制御するトラフィックエンジニアリング規則及びネットワークポリシーとを記憶するステップと、
前記通信ネットワーク上で実施されるサービスを定義するステップと、
前記定義したサービスを実施するために、前記記憶した情報に基づいて通信経路を計算するステップと、
前記計算した通信経路に従ってハードウェアエンドポイントをプログラムして、前記通信ネットワークにおける通信経路を設定するステップと、
前記計算した通信経路に従うプログラムしたハードウェアエンドポイント及び通信接続をモニタし、前記記憶した情報を更新するステップと、
通信経路を再計算し、該再計算した通信経路に従うハードウェアエンドポイントを再プログラムして、前記記憶した情報及びサービスの変更に基づいて前記通信経路を適応させ、前記サービスの実施を確実にするステップと、
前記計算した経路から前記再計算した経路へとサービスを移行させるステップと、
を含み、
前記通信経路は通信トンネルを有し、
前記ハードウェアエンドポイントをプログラムするステップは、
前記ハードウェアエンドポイントの通常の動作を無効にするためハードウェアエンドポイントを直接プログラムする工程と、
前記通信トンネルのうち、第1の通信トンネルの第1の通信プロトコルが第2の通信プロトコルと異なる場合、前記ハードウェアエンドポイントが、前記通信トンネルのうちの第2の通信トンネルの前記第2の通信プロトコルをエミュレートするように構成する工程と、
を含み、
前記通信ネットワークの前記第2の通信トンネルをエミュレートするように前記ハードウェアエンドポイントを構成する工程は、
第1の基本的な通信プロトコル及び複数のハードウェアエンドポイントを有する通信トンネルを割り当てる工程と、
前記第1の通信プロトコルとは異なり、かつ基本的な通信プロトコルを有する他の通信トンネルに前記通信トンネルを接続する工程と、
を含み、
前記通信ネットワークは、マルチレイヤ、マルチサービス、マルチベンダ、又はマルチキャリア通信ネットワークであることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記ハードウェアエンドポイントは、スイッチ、ルータ、或いは前記スイッチとルータの両方を併合したものを含み、前記通信ネットワークにおけるハードウェアエンドポイント及び通信接続に関する情報は、容量、利用率、及び性能指標を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記サービスは属性によって定義され、前記方法は、
前記ネットワーク上で実施される前記サービスを定義する属性を記憶するステップと、
前記定義したサービスを実施するために、前記属性に基づいて通信経路を計算するステップと、
をさらに含み、
前記サービスを定義する属性は、フレームの待ち時間、遅延変動、損失率、及び帯域幅プロファイルを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 通信経路を再計算し、該再計算した通信経路に従うハードウェアエンドポイントを再プログラムして、前記定義したサービスの属性の変更に基づいて前記通信経路を適応させ、前記サービスの実施を確実にするステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 通信経路を計算するステップは、サービスの質及びクラス毎の帯域幅制約に基づいて前記通信ネットワークにおけるハードウェアポイント及び通信接続を最適化するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 通信経路を計算するステップは、第1経路と冗長バックアップ通信経路を計算する工程を含み、前記冗長バックアップ通信経路は完全に冗長化したものでなければならず、前記第1の経路でいずれかのハードウェアエンドポイントに障害が発生している間、切り替わって通信するためのものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記計算した通信経路に従うプログラムしたハードウェアエンドポイント及び通信接続をモニタするステップは、ネットワーク障害、過負荷又は経路最適化のためにモニタするステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記通信経路を再計算し、該再計算した通信経路に従うハードウェアエンドポイントを再プログラムするステップは、前記計算した通信経路における前記通信接続の少なくとも1つに障害が起きた場合、前記通信ネットワークにおける通信経路を修復することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記通信経路を再計算し、該再計算した通信経路に従うハードウェアエンドポイントを再プログラムするステップは、前記記憶した情報に基づいて前記通信ネットワークにおける個々のサースの前記通信経路を最適化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記通信経路を再計算するステップは、該再計算した通信経路の通信接続のそれぞれの修復時間定数に基づいて、前記通信経路の関連する修復時間定数を動的に調整するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記通信経路を再計算するステップは、該通信経路に関連する経済的又は社会的価値に基づいて再計算を行うステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ソフトウェア制御プレーン制御システムを転送プレーンのハードウェアから切り離すステップと、
前記切り離されたソフトウェア制御プレーン制御システムとは別に、前記転送プレーンのハードウェアを更新するステップと、
をさらに有し、
前記計算した経路から前記再計算した経路へサービスを移行させるステップは、前記通信ネットワークにおけるハードウェアエンドポイント及び通信接続のメンテナンスをサービスを中断せずに可能にすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 通信ネットワークにおいて、該通信ネットワーク上で実施されるように定義されたサービスを制御するように構成されたソフトウェア制御プレーンネットワークコントローラであって、
前記通信ネットワークにおけるハードウェアポイント及び通信接続に関する情報と、前記通信ネットワークを制御するトラフィックエンジニアリング規則、及びネットワークポリシーとを記憶するように構成されたデータベースと、
請求項1乃至3に記載された前記方法のいずれかを実施するように構成された経路計算モジュールと、
を備えることを特徴とするソフトウェア制御プレーンネットワークコントローラ。
