Description
The present invention relates to a hard cover product. In particular, the present invention provides a hard cover product with a concealed security device, a liner that is an intermediate product of the hard cover product, and a book having a back portion concealing the security device to facilitate the manufacture and use of the hard cover product. The manufacture of products and their hardcover book products.
In recent years, tracking of product inventory has become important. Merchandise inventory represents a significant capital investment. In addition to cost factors, increased demand for anti-theft, inventory verification and settlement, and just-in-time production where producers can receive raw materials just before producing goods, Increases interest.
Various electronic devices and mechanical devices are provided for tracking and monitoring products and their containers. These devices include sonic magnetic strips and radio periodic security tags. These devices are often in the form of tags, pods, labels, patches, etc. and have a sticky surface for attachment to a product or a container of the product. These devices facilitate tracking and monitoring of a product and its container. Security devices are typically attached to items that are particularly susceptible to unloading and unauthorized removal from warehouses and vaults. These security devices include recognizable sensors. One known type of security tag has a circuit that resonates in a preset recognition frequency range. A transmitter provides electromagnetic energy that stimulates the circuit. A receiver detects the external signal emitted from the resonating circuit. The transmitter and the receiver are located at a detection location, often from a retail facility. As the product passes through the detection location, an activated sensor device is detected and the receiver signals an alarm. For products that are permitted to pass through the detection location (purchased products, etc.), the detection sensor cannot be operated by using another device prior to the passage. Other devices include RFID devices that transmit via digital signals. In one known RFID device, the signal displays an individual identifier for tracking a specific container.
In many cases, large stores require product producers to have tracking and monitoring devices built into the product containers. And for small stores and small wholesalers, the tracking and monitoring device does not have to be built in or need not be attached. Under such circumstances, merchandise can be provided with aftermarket tracking and monitoring devices. For example, a tag for electronic investigation of a product is used by fixing the tag to a container with an adhesive back surface. Although the container is thereby subject to electronic surveys of merchandise, the tag attached by sticking experiences problems through its use. One important issue is that the tag on the outside of the container can easily peel off. The removal of the security tag avoids security and prompts unauthorized removal of goods from a safe area. On the other hand, peeling by the person who purchased the product also causes a problem. The product cover with the security tag attached may be torn or torn, thus damaging the product packaging.
Further, the packaging with the security tag, or the packaging without the security tag due to peeling, creates something that is unsightly to the consumer. The security tag may also cover or wrap up decorative graphics or characters on the packaging. As a result, the security device interferes with printed graphics and other types of product covers, and the effect of promoting the marketability of the product by the design by printing or stamping is obstructed or vanished.
Significantly, attaching an electronic security tag to an assembly during the assembly stage leads to production and handling problems. These problems in the production process include mechanical problems in producing products and the need to operate production equipment at a reduced production speed. The security tag protrudes from the surface of what it is wearing. When the assembly at the assembly stage is stacked high, this gradually causes a gradient or inclination between the newly stacked assembly. For example, a hardcover book that is assembled using a packaging machine receives an outer liner attached to the front and back covers. The assembly at such an assembly stage is applied with an inner liner by a packing machine as a second step. Gradient assembly stacks make production and handling in the production process more difficult. Further, when the providing device pushes the assembly out of the hopper, for example for processing and application of the inner liner, the protruding security tag may damage the adjacent assembly.
Libraries, etc. are presented with a place to use hidden security devices that are of particular interest. Libraries typically have a large inventory of books, products that are readily portable. Technical books, valuable books, and similar books are subject to unauthorized removal. In order to prevent such a problem of inventory loss, a sensor-identifying device is installed near the exit door. The recognition device responds with a sensor installed in the book. For books that have undergone regular renting procedures, the sensor can no longer operate. If the sensor sends a signal to the recognition device, an alarm will sound. However, such a system using a library sensor and a recognition device is installed later, and the sensor is also manually installed in the library. The book is held and spread by a cover, and a gap is formed in the back portion. The gap is typically formed between the back edge of the bundled pages forming the book and the cover. The sensor device is inserted into an opening defined by the gap using a dedicated device. When the sensor device is installed, typically at the center of the back, the cover of the book is closed together and the tool is pulled out, thereby placing the security device in the back. In many cases, the security device has an adhesive surface for attachment to the back of a book. For books that do not create such a gap when the cover portion is opened, the security device must be installed on any one page, and is typically installed in the central portion of the book. This makes the sensor easier to peel off. It takes a lot of time to install the sensor device, and it is necessary to check the book periodically in order to check whether the sensor device is in a predetermined position. In addition, it is difficult to confirm proper arrangement and fixation of the sensor device inside the back.
Accordingly, in the art, hard cover products with hidden tracking and monitoring security devices, intermediate cover boards with hidden security devices for these hard cover products, and hidden in the back There is a demand for hardcover books with tracking and monitoring security devices. The present invention is directed to such a demand.

The objects, advantages and technical features of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the invention and the appended claims with reference to the accompanying drawings.
A. Hardcover Product and Method Reference will now be made in more detail to figures in which like numerals indicate like parts throughout the several views. FIG. 1 shows a
FIG. 3 shows a
With respect to the thickness of the sheet 14 (shown by the
In the illustrated example, the
FIG. 5 shows a
In the example shown in the figure, the
FIG. 6 shows the

FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram of an
The
Therefore, as one specific example, the manufacturing process is as follows: (a) Prior to wrapping the hard cover product or pasting the paper surface on top, the folded or paper-lined product board is opened by die cutting. (B) bonding or attaching the printed cover material on the board surface; and (c) installing a security sensor bar in the opening formed by the die cutting. And (d) lining the exposed side of the board with an inner liner of printed or unprinted sheet material. In this process, the security bar or device can be installed in the opening or cavity formed by the die-cutting without covering the cover or the print on the inner liner or printed matter. Reduce manufacturing mechanical problems, resulting in cost savings, making it more difficult to remove the security tag without damaging the package or the product itself, and any location on the board of the hardcover product Can also install the security bar.
With regard to RFID security stickers, the present invention applies to selected locations on the board before and after making a case for a cover used in a hard cover product and before overlaying the cover product with printed cover stock. Installing the sheet-like RFID sticker provides a method and apparatus for completely hiding the RFID security sticker, thereby hiding the RIFD sticker so that it has a lower visibility than competing products. The RFID security device is installed inside the product, thereby reducing visibility on the surface without obscuring the printed or decorated product. Manufacturing problems are also reduced due to the resulting cost savings. The hidden security device becomes difficult to remove without significantly damaging the product or the package itself.
B. Intermediate laminated coverboard for hardcover products and its manufacture.
The
Referring to FIGS. 11 and 12, the intermediate laminated coverboard 120 (shown in cutaway and exploded perspective views in FIGS. 11 and 12, respectively) is beneficial for assembly of the hardcover product 122. Used. The intermediate
The
Two opposing
In the same manner as the
Referring to FIGS. 11-13, the
As an example, the

The packing operation on the line involves fixing the book body to the cover, typically using an adhesive. The belt conveyor of the packing line conveys the book block in a state where the book block is arranged with its back facing up. In order to attach a fiberboard or kraft paper liner onto the back, the roller applies adhesive to the first and last page sheets and back of the book block. In the specific example shown in FIG. 21, the label attachment device selects the front and back of the fiberboard liner on the back and attaches the security device to the back surface.
