Description

The present invention relates to a diversity type portable radio device having two antennas.

A portable wireless device such as a cellular phone has two antennas, and for the same received signal received by this antenna, an antenna signal with excellent radio wave condition is used preferentially, or the received signals of the two antennas are combined. Portable wireless devices to which diversity technology that changes the weighting of the mobile phone is applied are becoming widespread.

Also, portable radio devices are becoming mainstream due to design requirements and the like, in which an antenna is built in a housing. For example, a foldable mobile phone has been proposed in which an antenna is incorporated in a casing having a key operation unit (see Patent Document 1).
Japanese Patent Publication, JP2003-8320A

By the way, in the diversity type portable wireless device, if the distance between the two antennas is close, interference between the antennas occurs and the antenna efficiency is deteriorated. Therefore, it is necessary to sufficiently separate the two antennas.

However, there are many cases in which two antennas have to be arranged in close proximity due to the demand for miniaturization of portable radio devices. In this case, as described above, there is a problem in that the antenna characteristics deteriorate due to interference between the two antennas.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and in a diversity portable radio device in which two antennas are built in a housing, even when the two antennas are arranged close to each other, antenna interference is easy. It is an object of the present invention to provide a portable wireless device that can be suppressed.

Therefore, the portable wireless device of the present invention is a diversity type portable wireless device,
Two antennas,
A housing,
A circuit board provided in the housing and having a reference potential portion formed thereon,
The two antennas are arranged at one end in the housing,
At least one of the two antennas is mounted on the circuit board,
A component having a metal portion electrically connected to the reference potential portion is disposed in the vicinity of the one antenna.

Preferably, the one antenna is a receiving antenna.

Preferably, the component having the metal part is a shield case disposed on the circuit board so as to cover an electronic component mounted on the circuit board, an earphone jack mounted on the circuit board, or the circuit. A card connector mounted on a substrate.

According to the portable wireless device of the present invention, among the two diversity antennas arranged in the casing constituting the portable wireless device, in the vicinity of one antenna, the reference potential portion of the circuit board provided in the casing and By disposing an antenna gain of the one antenna by disposing a part including an electrically connected metal part and reducing the antenna gain of the other antenna, both antennas interfere with each other. A situation in which the antenna gain is degraded can be avoided.

Thereby, even if two antennas are arranged on one end side in the housing, diversity reception can be performed satisfactorily. In addition, since the degree of freedom of antenna arrangement and, moreover, the degree of freedom of design of the portable wireless device is expanded, it becomes possible to reduce the size and thickness of the cellular phone.

Hereinafter, a portable wireless device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is an external perspective view showing the entire mobile phone 100 according to the present embodiment.

This cellular phone 100 is a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) 2000 1x and CDMA2000 1x EVDO (Evolution Data Only) type telephone, and includes a first case 1 including a key operation unit 9 that receives an operation by a user, and the like. A second casing 11 having a main display 12 and the like, and the first casing 1 and the second casing 11 can be folded so as to face each other via a hinge portion 2 formed at one end of each. It is connected to open and close.

The first housing 1 has a first case member 3 and a second case member 4. A key operation unit 9 having a call key, a call end key, and the like is exposed on the facing surface 1a of the first case 1 facing the second case 11 in the closed state. A microphone 7 is arranged below the. A part of the outer surface of the first housing 1 is formed by a lid member 3a, in which a secondary battery 8 (see FIG. 3) is housed.

In the second casing 11, a main display 12 composed of a liquid crystal display, an organic EL display, an inorganic EL display, etc. is exposed on the facing surface 11a facing the first casing 1 in the closed state. A speaker 13 is disposed above 12.

Further, cushion members 14 are attached to the left and right of the speaker 13 in a protruding state. When the first housing 1 and the second housing 11 are closed by the cushion material 14, the first member 1 is closed. The housing 1 and the second housing 11 are prevented from coming into direct contact.

FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing a configuration of mobile phone 100 shown in FIG.

The cellular phone 100 is connected to a control unit 21 such as a CPU for comprehensively controlling the cellular phone, a key operation unit 9, a main display 12, a microphone 7 and a speaker 13, and an audio processing unit 22 for processing an audio signal, wireless communication Part 30 and the like.

The wireless communication unit 30 performs diversity reception, and includes a transmission / reception antenna 31 and a reception antenna 32. The transmission / reception antenna 31 is connected to a communication processing unit 37 via a high-frequency switch 33 that switches between both antennas 31 and 32, an antenna duplexer 34, a first reception circuit 35, and a transmission circuit 36. The receiving antenna 32 is connected to the communication processing unit 37 via the high frequency switch 33 and the second receiving circuit 39.

With such a configuration, when the antennas 31 and 32 receive radio waves from a base station (not shown) in the CDMA2000 1x EVDO system, the communication processing unit 37 receives the first receiving circuit 35 via both the antennas 31 and 32. The radio signals input to the second receiving circuit 39 are synthesized and the radio signals are processed.

The communication processing unit 37 transmits a radio signal to the base station via the transmission circuit 36, the antenna duplexer 34, the high frequency switch 33, and the transmission / reception antenna 31.

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view showing a detailed structure of the first housing of the mobile phone shown in FIG.

Inside the first housing 1, a circuit board 5, a shield case (a part including a metal part) 6, and a key operation unit 9 are provided. Reference numeral 8 denotes a secondary battery 8 accommodated in a space formed between the first case member 3 and the lid member 3a.

On the circuit board 5, electronic components such as an integrated circuit, a resistor, and a capacitor are mounted, and a connection wiring pattern and a reference potential pattern (ground pattern) for connecting the components are formed. Further, a receiving antenna 32 is mounted on the circuit board 5 (see FIGS. 4B and 5).

The shield case 6 is made of a plate-shaped metal top plate 9a having a size covering the surface 5a (the surface on the key operation unit 9 side) of the circuit board 5, and a resin coated with a conductive film. A box-shaped member having a plurality of wall portions 9b provided so as to protrude vertically from 9a, and disposed on the opposite side of the secondary battery 8 with the circuit board 5 interposed therebetween. It arrange | positions so that the surface 5a (surface by the side of the key operation part 9) of the board | substrate 5 may be covered.

The shield case 6 is screwed to the circuit board 5 at a plurality of locations and is electrically connected to a reference potential portion (ground portion) of the circuit board 5. This prevents the electronic component mounted on the surface 5a of the circuit board 5 from being disturbed by electromagnetic waves or the like. The circuit board 5, the shield case 6 attached and fixed to the circuit board 5, and the key operation unit 9 provided on the top plate 9 a of the shield case 6 are joined in a facing state. And the second case member 4.

In addition, although the example which formed the top plate 9a which comprises the shield case 6 with the metal, and formed the resin which coat | covered the wall part 9b with the electrically conductive film was shown, it should just have electroconductivity as a whole, for example, The entire shield case 6 may be made of metal, or the top plate 9a and the wall 9b may be integrally formed of resin, and then the entire surface may be covered with a conductive film. In particular, since the entire weight of the shield case 6 is made of a resin coated with a conductive film, the weight of the entire mobile phone 100 can be reduced.

4A is a perspective view showing the assembled state of the front end (one end) of the first housing, and FIG. 4B is a cross-sectional view of the front end (one end) of the first housing. As shown, the circuit board 5 is disposed up to the tip (one end) inside the first housing 1. In addition, a transmission / reception antenna 31 is disposed in the space between the tip of the first housing 1 and the circuit board 5.

A reception antenna 32 mounted on the circuit board 5 is disposed near the transmission / reception antenna 31 on the circuit board 5.

As shown in FIG. 4B, the receiving antenna 32 mounted on the circuit board 5 is covered with a shield case 6 electrically connected to the reference potential portion of the circuit board 5. ing. In other words, in the vicinity of the receiving antenna 32, the shield case 6 electrically connected to the reference potential portion of the circuit board 5 is arranged.

That is, the transmission / reception antenna 31 and the reception antenna 32 have antenna gains in the same frequency band or a nearby frequency band. If both the antennas 31 and 32 are arranged close to each other, the antenna gains deteriorate due to electromagnetic interference between the antennas 31 and 32. That is, a phenomenon occurs in which both antennas 31 and 32 are coupled to each other, and the transmission radio wave and the reception radio wave are dispersed with each other, and the antenna gain is deteriorated even when used alone.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4B, the shield case 6 electrically connected to the reference potential portion of the circuit board 5 is disposed in the vicinity of the receiving antenna 32. Thereby, although the antenna gain of the receiving antenna 32 deteriorates, the deterioration of the antenna gain of the transmitting / receiving antenna 31 can be reduced. That is, by previously deteriorating the antenna gain of the receiving antenna 32, interference between the receiving antenna 32 and the transmitting / receiving antenna 31 is suppressed, and deterioration of the antenna gain of the transmitting / receiving antenna 31 is reduced. It is possible to prevent the gains of both antennas from deteriorating.

Therefore, the cellular phone 100 can perform diversity reception using the two antennas 31 and 32 satisfactorily. In addition, since the two antennas 31 and 32 can be arranged close to each other in the single housing 1, the mobile phone 100 can be reduced in size and thickness.

In particular, the reception antenna 32 is dedicated for reception and is not used for transmission like the transmission / reception antenna 31. Therefore, the antenna gain as high as that of the transmission / reception antenna 31 is not required to obtain the diversity effect. Therefore, the shield case 6 is preferably close to the receiving antenna 32.

However, if the shield case 6 is too close to the receiving antenna 32, radiation is cut off or the antenna does not function as an antenna due to coupling with the reference potential section, so that a minimum antenna gain that can achieve a diversity effect is obtained. It is preferable to approach as close as possible within the range.

FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing an example in which the earphone jack is brought close to the receiving antenna instead of the shield case, and FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing an example in which the card connector is brought close to the receiving antenna instead of the shield case. It is.

5 and 6 show a back surface 5b opposite to the front surface 5a on which the receiving antenna 32 is mounted, in which an earphone jack 41 or a card connector 45 is mounted and disposed at a position facing the receiving antenna 32. FIG. is there. That is, the earphone jack 41 and the card connector 45 are provided with metal portions 41a and 45a that are connected to the connection wiring pattern and also connected to the reference potential pattern. Connected metal parts can be arranged. In this way, by arranging the earphone jack 41 and the card connector 45 in the vicinity of the receiving antenna 32, the antenna gain of the receiving antenna 32 can be reduced similarly to the example of the shield case 6. Since interference between the receiving antenna 32 and the transmitting / receiving antenna 31 is suppressed and deterioration of the antenna gain of the transmitting / receiving antenna 31 is reduced, it is possible to prevent the gains of both the antennas 31 and 32 from being deteriorated.

In this case, in order to prevent a decrease in the antenna gain of the receiving antenna 32 from becoming excessively large, a portion of the shield case 6 where the receiving antenna 32 is provided is cut out or made nonconductive. Is preferred.

As described above, the shapes, combinations, and the like of the constituent members shown in the above-described embodiments are merely examples, and various modifications can be made based on design requirements and the like without departing from the gist of the present invention.

For example, in the above-described embodiment, an example in which the shield case 6, the earphone jack 41, the card connector 45, and the like are used as the parts including the metal portion disposed in the vicinity of the reception antenna 32 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and any component including a metal part electrically connected to the reference potential part of the circuit board, such as a screw, a charging terminal, and a button battery of a clock backup circuit, may be used. The degree of reduction in the antenna gain in the receiving antenna 32 depends on the size of the metal part, the distance from the receiving antenna 32, and the distance between the transmitting and receiving antenna 31 and the receiving antenna 32. Since the degree of degradation is defined, it may be set as appropriate within a range in which the minimum antenna gain that can achieve the diversity effect is obtained.

The diversity reception method is described in CDMA2000 EVDO that performs reception by comparing the S / N ratio of the reception signals of the two antennas and optimizing the weighting of each reception signal in the communication processing unit 37. However, it can also be applied to, for example, W-CDMA HSDPA (High Speed Data Packet Access).

Further, the housing in which the two antennas 31 and 32 are built is not limited to the first housing 1 but may be the second housing 11.

Moreover, not only the front-end | tip part of a housing | casing but a side edge part etc. may be sufficient. In any case, the present invention can be applied if the two antennas 31 and 32 are close to each other and interference between the antennas occurs.

ダイバーシティ受信を行う無線部を備える携帯電子機器であれば、例えばPDA(Personal Digital Assistants)などであってもよい。
Furthermore, although the mobile phone 100 has been described in the above-described embodiment, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistants) may be used as long as it is a portable electronic device that includes a wireless unit that performs diversity reception.
This application is based on a Japanese patent application filed on Feb. 24, 2006 (Japanese Patent Application No. 2006-04-9061), the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
