Description

The present invention relates to a board connector used by being attached to a printed circuit board (PCB).

In general, a board connector is formed by inserting a male terminal through a connector housing having a hood portion, and projecting a connection end of the male terminal with the female terminal into the hood portion, and a printed circuit board of the male terminal. The connection end is bent into an L shape and protruded to the opposite side to the hood portion. Here, the housing has a function of holding the male terminal, a function of holding the mating connector, and a function of fixing the connector to the board. The male terminal has a function of electrically connecting to the female terminal of the mating connector, a function of fixing the connector to the board by soldering to the board, and a function of electrically connecting to the circuit of the board.

The male terminal is attached to the connector housing by inserting the male terminal from the hood part side or the opposite side. In such an attachment method, when inserting and removing the female terminal, If a large force in the opposite direction acts on the male terminal, the male terminal may come off, so it is necessary to prevent the male terminal from coming off.

As a configuration type in which the male terminal is prevented from coming off, an insert type (for example, see Patent Document 1) and a press-fit type (for example, see Patent Document 2) are mainly known.

The insert type inserts a male terminal when the connector housing is molded, and can exhibit a strong terminal retaining force, but has a drawback of high cost. Therefore, when an inexpensive one is required, a press-fitting type is used.

FIG. 7 shows an example of a press-fit type board connector. In this connector, a male terminal 3 straight in a through hole 2 formed in the rear end wall 1a of the housing 1 is press-fitted from the hood part 4 side, and both side edges of the male terminal 3 are inserted into stoppers 5 on the inner wall of the through hole 2. The male terminal 3 is pushed in until it reaches a predetermined mounting position where the locking projection 6 comes into contact, and then the portion protruding to the opposite side of the hood portion 4 of the male terminal 3 is bent downward in an L shape, The male terminal 3 is attached.

When the male terminal 3 is attached to the housing 1 in this manner, the male terminal 3 is press-fitted into the through hole 2, so that a large pressing force is applied from the inner wall surface of the through hole 2 to the surface of the male terminal 3. Is working. With this pressing force, the male terminal 3 is held in a constant posture without causing backlash in any of the upper, lower, left and right directions, and the movement in the pulling direction is prevented by the frictional resistance generated by the pressing. .

By the way, the conventional press-fit type board connector has a problem that the terminal holding force is weak because the male terminal is prevented from coming off by the frictional resistance caused by the press-fitting of the male terminal. Further, when the male terminal is press-fitted, resin burrs may occur.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, can be easily assembled and manufactured at low cost, has a strong terminal holding force, and does not generate burrs as in the press-fit type, thereby improving quality. An object of the present invention is to provide a connector for a board that can be realized.

In order to achieve the above-described object, the board connector according to the present invention is characterized by the following (1).
(1) a connector housing having a hood portion;
A male terminal mounted through the rear end wall of the connector housing;
Have
A connector for a board in which a connection end with the female terminal of the male terminal protrudes into the hood part, and a connection end with the board of the male terminal protrudes on the opposite side of the hood part,
An insertion hole into which the male terminal is inserted is formed in the rear end wall of the connector housing,
On the inner surface of the insertion hole, a terminal locking recess that is recessed in a direction intersecting the insertion direction of the male terminal is formed,
On the side surface of the male terminal, when the male terminal is displaced in a direction intersecting the insertion direction with the male terminal inserted up to a predetermined position with respect to the insertion hole, the male terminal is fitted into the terminal locking recess. A full stop projection, and
On the inner side surface of the insertion hole of the connector housing, there is provided a flexible lance that presses and biases the male terminal in a direction in which the stopper projection fits into the locking recess. thing.

According to the board connector configured as described in (1) above, it is possible to secure a catch allowance between the connector housing and the male terminal by the level difference of the terminal locking recess provided on the inner surface of the insertion hole. The terminal holding force can be increased as compared with the conventional press-fit type that secures the retaining force by the frictional resistance. In addition, when the male terminal is assembled, the stopper provided on the side surface of the male terminal can be obtained by simply displacing the male terminal in a direction intersecting the insertion direction with the male terminal inserted to a predetermined position with respect to the insertion hole. The protrusion can be fitted into the recess for terminal locking on the inner surface of the insertion hole. Further, in this state, the pressing urging means presses the male terminal against the concave portion side, so that the fitting between the concave portion and the stopper projection can be reliably held. Therefore, assembly can be facilitated without using a jig or the like, and can be manufactured at low cost. Further, since the male terminal is not press-fitted, there is no fear of occurrence of burrs, and the quality can be improved.
Further, since the lance is provided on the inner surface of the insertion hole as the pressing urging means, the stopper projection can be easily fitted into the recess by the urging force of the lance simply by inserting the male terminal into the insertion hole. Further, it is sufficient to form a lance housing side, Ru can be a male terminal in a simple configuration.

According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a board connector that is easy to assemble and can be manufactured at low cost, has a strong terminal holding force, and does not generate burrs unlike the press-fitting type and can improve quality.

The present invention has been briefly described above. Furthermore, the details of the present invention will be further clarified by reading through the best mode for carrying out the invention described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

図1(a)〜(d)は実施形態の基板用コネクタの構成図で、図1(a)は正面図、図1(b)は図1(a)のIb−Ib矢視図、図1(c)は図1(b)のIc−Ic矢視断面図、図1(d)は後面図である。図2(a)〜(c)は雄端子の組み付け手順の説明用の側断面図、図3(a)〜(c)は図2の(a)〜(c)にそれぞれ対応させた図2(a)〜(c)のIII{図2(a)に代表的に示される。 1A to 1D are configuration diagrams of the board connector of the embodiment, FIG. 1A is a front view, FIG. 1B is a view taken along the arrow Ib-Ib in FIG. 1 (c) is a cross-sectional view taken along the arrow Ic-Ic in FIG. 1 (b), and FIG. 1 (d) is a rear view. 2 (a) to 2 (c) are side sectional views for explaining the male terminal assembly procedure, and FIGS. 3 (a) to 3 (c) correspond to FIGS. 2 (a) to (c), respectively. III of (a) to (c) {typically shown in FIG. 2 (a). } FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the relationship between the male terminal and the insertion hole on the connector housing side.

As shown in FIGS. 1A to 1D, the board connector includes a connector housing 10 having a hood portion 11, and a male terminal 20 that is inserted through the rear end wall 12 of the connector housing 10. The connection end 21 of the male terminal 20 to the female terminal protrudes into the hood portion 11, and the connection end 22 of the male terminal 20 to the substrate protrudes to the opposite side of the hood portion 11.

An insertion hole 13 into which the male terminal 20 is inserted is formed in the rear end wall 12 of the connector housing 10, and the inner surface of the insertion hole 13 (that is, the inner surface of the connector housing 10 that defines the insertion hole 13). A terminal locking recess 14 that is recessed in a direction (lower side) intersecting with the insertion direction of the male terminal 20 is formed. As shown in FIG. 4, the recess 14 is provided with a front locking wall surface 14 a and a rear locking wall surface 14 b that are orthogonal to the insertion direction of the male terminal 20.

On the other hand, on the left and right side surfaces of the male terminal 20 having a rectangular cross section, the male terminal 20 is displaced in a direction (lower side) intersecting the insertion direction with the male terminal 20 inserted to a predetermined position with respect to the insertion hole 13. In this case, a pair of rectangular parallelepiped stopper protrusions 23 are provided so as to protrude into the terminal locking recesses 14. As shown in FIG. 4, each stopper protrusion 14 is provided with a front abutting surface 23 a and a rear abutting surface 14 b that are orthogonal to the insertion direction of the male terminal 20.

As shown in FIGS. 3A to 3C and FIG. 4, the rear end inlet of the insertion hole 13 of the connector housing 10 has a T shape, and the upper wide opening is the main body portion 20 a of the male terminal 20. And the width | variety which can insert the whole stopper protrusion 14 of the right-and-left both sides is formed. Further, the narrow opening on the lower side is formed to have a width that allows only the main body 20a of the male terminal 20 to be fitted. And the recessed part 14 in which the stopper protrusion 14 fits is arrange | positioned in the back | inner side of the position of the height of a narrow opening. The space having a T-shaped cross section that continues from the rear end entrance continues to the position of the front locking wall surface 14a of the recess 14, and the wall at the end of that position is the stopper wall 13a that defines the insertion limit of the stopper protrusion 14. . The stopper wall 13a is formed on both the left and right sides excluding the central portion where the main body portion 20a of the male terminal 20 is inserted, and is continuous with the front locking wall surface 14 of the recess 14.

Also, a flexible lance 15 that presses and urges the male terminal 20 toward the direction (lower side) in which the stopper projection 23 fits into the terminal locking recess 14 is formed on the ceiling of the inner surface of the insertion hole 13. Is provided as a pressing biasing means. Note that a hole indicated by reference numeral 16 is a hole for forming the terminal locking recess 14.

To assemble the male terminal 20 into the connector housing 10, the male terminal 20 is inserted from the terminal insertion hole 13 at the rear end of the connector housing 10 as shown in FIGS. When the male terminal 20 is inserted until the stopper projection 23 of the male terminal 20 contacts the stopper wall 13a of the housing 10, the insertion is stopped at that position. Then, the male terminal 20 is pressed downward by the urging force of the lance 15, the male terminal 20 is displaced downward, and the stopper projection 23 is fitted in the recess 14. In this state, the front locking surface 14a of the recess 14 and the front abutting surface 23a of the stopper projection 23 face each other, and the rear locking wall 14b of the recess 14 and the rear abutting surface 23b of the stopper projection 23 face each other. The terminal 20 is regulated so as not to move in the front-rear direction. This state is maintained by the urging force of the lance 15. Therefore, the board connector can be used in any posture.

In the case of this structure, it is possible to secure a catching margin between the connector housing 10 and the male terminal 20 by the level difference (height) of the terminal locking recess 14 provided on the inner surface of the insertion hole 13. The terminal holding force can be increased as compared with the conventional press-fit type that secures the retaining force by the frictional resistance.

When the male terminal 20 is assembled, the male terminal 20 is displaced in a direction intersecting the insertion direction with the male terminal 20 inserted to a predetermined position with respect to the insertion hole 13 (in this example, the lance 15 of the lance 15 is displaced). The stopper protrusion 23 provided on the side surface of the male terminal 20 can be fitted into the terminal locking recess 14 on the inner side surface of the insertion hole 13 only by being automatically displaced by the urging force. In this state, since the lance 15 presses the male terminal 20 against the concave portion 14 side, the fitting of the concave portion 14 and the stopper projection 23 can be reliably held. Therefore, assembly can be facilitated without using a jig or the like, and a board connector can be manufactured at low cost. Further, since the male terminal 20 is not the type for press-fitting, there is no risk of burrs and quality can be improved.

Further, since the stopper projection 23 is fitted into the recess 14 by the urging force of the lance 15, it is only necessary to insert the male terminal 20 into the insertion hole 13 during assembly. Further, since it is only necessary to form the lance 15 on the connector housing 10 side in this way, it is not necessary to add an unnecessary shape to the male terminal 20, and the configuration on the male terminal 20 side can be simplified.

In addition, this invention is not limited to embodiment mentioned above, A deformation | transformation, improvement, etc. are possible suitably. In addition, the material, form, number, location, and the like of each component in the above-described embodiment are arbitrary and are not limited as long as the present invention can be achieved.

In the above embodiment, the case where the lance 15 as the pressing biasing means is provided on the connector housing 10 side has been described. However, as shown in FIG. 5, the main body portion 20a of the male terminal 20B is curved, for example, in an arc shape. Even if the spring portion 27 is provided as a pressing biasing means, the same biasing action can be obtained. In this case, unlike the case where the lance 15 is provided in the connector housing 10, it is possible to contribute to the reduction of the molding cost on the connector housing 10 side.

Moreover, as shown in FIG. 6, the spring part 28 can also be provided on the stopper protrusion 23 of the male terminal 20C. The spring portion 28 may be provided on only one side as shown in FIG. 6, but may be provided on both sides.

The stopper protrusions 23 may be provided on both sides in terms of balance, but may be provided only on one side because of space.
